Beautiful glass with a heavy bottom

Bought some cheap glasses alongside these... the difference is night and day . I got the Barware Collection Cocktail Tasting/Whiskey/Juice, 5.1-Ounce, Set of 6 , they had crystal clear glass, came well packed and are really a good weight to hold.

Very thin glass & nice weighted bottom. Perfect size for drinking scotch neat. We have regular Friday gatherings and one has never been broken - but twice now people have wandered off with one and “forgotten” what happened to it. So now I have a replacement set.

These are tiny. If you were pouring a whiskey for your 5 year old, these would be the prefect size. But, not if you're looking to pour some whiskey over ice. A normal sized ice cube would take up 1/2 the glass. Returning these and still looking.

I've had a dozen of Schott Zwiesel (SZ) wine glasses for a couple of years. We really like them and get a lot of complements. The titanium crystal is easy to care for, and very durable.My whiskey glasses were chipped and cracked from 25 years of use, and I decided to replace them. So I went back to SZ. and ordered these in two sizes, 5.1oz and 9.8 oz.The glasses are very nice. Not much style, but the heavy bases are good. These are glasses you would find in a high end bar. The smaller size is good for neat whiskey, and the larger for those who like ice in their drinks. I'd like to give them 5 stars, but for two design issues. First, the lip is very slightly rounded, and not straight cut like fine crystal. Second, the glasses are a bit slippery, when wet (ice condensation). I realize this is to be expected, but with an absolutely straight sided glass and no etching you need to be careful. With the smaller glass, not a problem, both because of no ice, and because it is small enough that you can completely enclose it in your hand.My adult son liked these very much.Finally, I have Waterford Lismore, in the same cabinet. I tend to reach for these SZ glasses first.

I had another Goldilocks moment shopping for these. 5 oz is too big and 2 oz is too small but 3 oz is just right. I like knowing that filling halfway is about 1.5 oz (a jigger serving); after a particularly rough day, or for a drink I'm really fond of, I'll fill it all the way :)I previously bought some large tumblers with a funky shape but the funkiness wears off. I prefer the linear simple design of these. The beefy bottom means the glasses don't easily slide around and give them a more manly man look.

I usually complain that things are over packaged but in this case one glass was totally shattered. I lost one out of my set of six. I'm disappointed.

I have purchased a full set of Schott glasses to use as our daily glassware. I am very pleased with the quality and the upscale feel of them. So far they are holding up very well in the dishwasher and come out looking like new. I really like having something a little nicer to use and hand to guests ' without breaking the bank or bursting into tears when one hits the concrete patio. These glasses bridge the gap between the cheap junk from the warehouse retailers and high end crystal. Well worth the investment.My review is for the 5.1 oz glass. It is IMPORTANT to understand these are really small. I found they spilled over with under 5 ozs. I find it odd that they call them a mixed drink glass, with a couple of ice cubes and a shot there is little to no room for mix. I could not imagine handing a guest a mixed drink in such a small glass - I would look like a cheapskate, almost comical. What I use them for is drinking straight up high-end whisky and rum - without ice. I find that a one ounce shot in the bottom of a typical full size flat bottomed whisky glass doesn't work as it barely wets the bottom. This is what you use to serve small amounts of the good stuff.I see my review is showing up on more than one glass size. The 5.1oz are the too small ones. The 11.1 oz tall ones are great for gin and tonics etc. A good "old fashioned" or "on the rocks" glass is the 9.5oz, the 13.5oz "iceberg" style whisky glasses are perfect if you like double rum and cokes etc. Get the 18.25oz Charles Schuman style if you want a large tumbler for a big lemonaide or iced tea with lots of ice.UPDATE Sept2017: Well, it's been over 2 years, and I am still VERY happy. These are our daily glassware, and they go in the dishwasher. Even with coffee mugs rubbing against them, we have yet to see ANY sign of scratching or hazing from the dishwasher. None have been broken either, they are strong.
