301. Everyone: 2020 sucks Taylor: Hold my records
2020 is coming to a close, I am thankful for the great music that saved it/us. Just 5 months after the surprise release of "Folklore" back in July, and 2 days before her 31st birthday, the most workaholic artist in pop presents the sequel to that record. "Folklore" revealed a softer, stripped down Swift. "Evermore" digs a little deeper, presenting an indier side sonically. Although it could all be a little too self-indulgent and excessive, somehow "Folklore"'s introspective and romantic nature, and "Evermore"'s freewheeling and rebellious one, feel like sister records, showcasing a newfound creative surge by a songwriter that is not resting in her pop glory. And, even more impressively, both chapters are equally strong, beautiful and satisfying. It remains to be seen whether the rumour about a third album arriving next year is valid. Judging from this second installment, Tay seems unstoppable. The cultural reset that started with "Folklore" is now complete with "Evermore"; effortless, genuine and honest. She has had plenty of pop hits, now she is presenting a whole new side, esoteric and intimate. Saviour queen 🎵🧡

2nd lockdown album from taylor - this is more folk acoustic - but still a classic!
it took me 2 months to buy "folklore" as i didnt like the title and thought it would be folk songs and the production would not be that great! - it was not and it contained has been one of my favourite albums of the year!"evermore" - is more acoustic / piano and earthy sounding - still with amazing vocals and lyrics - i am not sure if everyone will love it ( i do) as it is missing the pop polished edged of the studio albums - but it does show taylors talent and versatily even in these times while most of the world has shot down - she has released 2 worthy albums xi was hooked from the first listen of "willow" - i think i actually has it on repeat for 2 hours!"champagne problems" personally i dont like - simply because i dont like stripped back acoustic vocals"gold rush" - will be a huge hit - it has a slight pop edge, strings and sweeping vocals - might be one of my favourite songs by taylor ever xits a beautiful album a bit different at times - but i like that - nobody want every song on every album to sound the same - x

Wonderful Music
Taylor has delivered another amazing album. Most singers struggle to deliver one album every couple of years. Taylor has done 2 in about 4 months and both have excelled in the billboard chartsJust spent an exquisite 68 minutes listening to the album sipping on a 10 year old malt whiskey.Buy the album, wait till late evening, turn the lights down, pour yourself your favourite tipple and relax and listen to some beautiful music from a beautiful and highly talented singer songwriter.Heard a rumour on one radio station this afternoon that a third album is coming in the spring ( I really hope so) these 2 albums have been the best thing about lockdown. Thanks Taylor, my 2 favourite albums of the year.

Great music did not die with the end of the ‘70’s...
Remarkable. Reminded me of days in the ‘70’s listening late night to Jackson Browne and Joni Mitchell on the radio. Definitely not an album to talk over while it plays in the background. This is one to be listened to alone with headphones and lyric sheet. It’s words are so carefully selected and nuanced it’s not possible to get their full import just by a listen or two. If you think that all great music is now in the past and everything current is just a repeat of what you’ve heard in younger years suspend those thoughts and listen to this. There is a reason why Rolling Stone magazine in their top 50 albums of 2020 put Swift at no.1 with her previous album “ Folklore.” That album was outstanding. This is even better.

A fantastic album
2020 was a strange year and I never thought I would be raving about 2 Taylor Swift albums never mind 1 - Folklore was a superb album that I have been playing almost non stop since it was released - Evermore continues the journey - here again are another 17 brilliantly constructed songs low key songs.I'm left in awe that any artist can come up with so many strong songs in that time.Buy them both - you won't be disappointed !!
