Super destructible
I've taught my dog the names of all his toys. This is "purple bone". It's just the right size for Kong and Newman's Own treats to get lodged in there so he has to work a bit to get out. He loves Purple Bone.I like that he's so fond of it and that that it's quiet when he tosses it around, but I keep having to replace it because he chews right through it. Before you wonder if he's a power chewer, let me tell you that he's a Bichon mix. Not exactly the jaws of life (death?) over here.2.5 stars rounded up to 3 because I'm sure I'll buy it again in a few months. (His "black kong" has lasted three years.)

Morkie
My Maltese Yorkie mix chewed off pieces within 3 days of receiving this item. He's a little guy, but apparently a very heavy chewer. So for me it was a waste of money.

NOT durable
I am very unhappy with this product. I have a Chocolate Lab and I bought this toy from a local pet store. It did not say anywhere on the packaging that it is intended for small dogs. It was also the only size of this toy that the store carried. My dog has had a similar bone from the Kong brand that is almost the same size and lasted over 6 months. Within 10 minutes of my dog having this toy the end of it was cracked (a large 2+ inch crack). If I gave it back to him he would easily crack a chunk off of the toy.It is disappointing because I was attracted to the fact that this toy was manufactured with out the use of harsh chemicals. I realize no dog toy is indestructible but the packing specifies this product as "durable" and for "tough chewers", which it definitely is not. Those descriptions are very misleading. If your dog is even a moderate chewer, I would pass on this product because it will be a waste of money. It is unlikely that I will purchase any SafeMade products in the future. I should have purchased the Kong Brand chew bone, which I have bought in the past and is much more durable.
