Great Book
Great intro to Bryology book, according to bryologists I know; definitely would want to have a general understanding of biology, botany, ecology, etc. but as for the organisms themselves this is a very digestible introduction.

Five Stars
Not exactly an "Introduction", but a very informative book.

Good, not great.
This is an attempt to make contemporary aspects of the science of bryology easier to swallow than the more serious work by Goffinet and Shaw, called "Bryophyte Bryology." It would be better to either get a general text, like the excellent text book by W.B. Schofield, "Introduction to Bryology" or else get ready to sink your teeth into "Bryophyte Bryology" (second edition) from Cambridge University press.

Great book!
This is an excellent book for the undergraduate student interested in learning about bryophytes. The chapters cover the basics, so if you are a grad student looking to brush up for general exams, this is a great book for that purpose.

Excellent basic resource about Bryophytes.
It is exactly what the descrption says it is...a stepping stone to more serious literature about Bryophytes. This is an excellent book to decide whether or not whether the reader is interested enough in Bryophytes to warrant spending the time and money getting more serious text on the subject. Excellent book and a number of good micrographs in it.
