Barberries [Natural], 16oz

These have all the bright flavor I was looking for in my basmati rice.5/5 on flavor.The color was a little less bright than I was expecting so 4/5 on color, but when I am enjoying a special item shipped to me from so far away, I accept it won't be exactly like at the source. We have to be realistic.

The product arrived on time. Good quality and color. Taste is not great not anything to against the product just the nature of barberries pretty flat up front with sourness on the back end. I bought them for health benefits.

My ayurvedic doctor recommended I start taking barberries daily. Wonderful antioxidants! They taste sort of like craisins, tart and sweet. I wash them before eating and occasionally found one I'd pick out, but in general very fresh and good. I keep ordering more!

This is the second time I've ordered from this company, and the the second order is even better than the first one was! I highly recommend these barberries!

Updated review after trying these barberries:They are not bright red barberries, but I thought of trying them and these taste good!The packet does say these need to be carefully cleaned and washed before use, but other than that, these are good quality and taste is nice! Just like they should. Expiration date is also in late 2025.

These are supposed to help with blood sugar levels. I don't check mine but I bought these to be on the safe side for health reasons. I like using food instead of drugs. These are sour but I don't mind. I just eat about a tablespoon a day.

I missed the small disclaimer line in the product description that this product required washing before eating. I went looking for it after I bit down on a small rock. Thought about throwing it out and chalking it up to experience but these weren't cheap. So, I've been washing them to allow any rocks to hopefully sink. I've pulled a couple of "thorns" out of the water, and there is always some sandlike dirt residue in the bottom of the container. The problem is, some of the berries float but many of them sink as well. So it is a very time-consuming thing to fish them out of the water while also avoiding picking up the rocks, thorns and dirt I just washed off. I definitely will never buy these again from this supplier and I will probably end up throwing them away. I have been used to dried goji berries at Costco and that's the quality and convenience I was expecting. THE ONE POSITIVE: This is my first time eating barberries after having them recommended by Dr. Michael Greger and they are delicious. Hopefully, I can find a different supplier who pre-washes and "de-rocks/de-thorns" their product before selling.

Fresh and juicy and of excellent color (red ruby color) and flavour. I use it for making barberry rice. The packaging is excellent, every single barberry is fresh and super clean as if you had picked them and washed and dried them yourself at home. I will only buy these going forward! They are simply the best!
