A media player that looks better on paper and struggles to stream.
The Q Box Android TV Media Player should be a lot better. On paper the specifications should be more than sufficient for streaming but in reality it is beset by problems.First the positive - as a media player (for your existing content) it works okay. The box is also rooted so you can sideload apps (apks) should you choose to do so. It is small and looks okay (but does get hot).Unfortunately there are a lot of negatives. The interface imposed over the stock Android one is not customizable without using another app to complete re-skin it. That would be minor if for the fact that the preloaded apps are not the most stable or usable. Whilst Kodi is a great idea and a lot of people have dedicated a huge amount of effort to it boxes like this do it a disservice. As unfortunately do the less than legitimate services that come preloaded. The auto updater for Kodi does a great job of destroying your settings and chosen add-ons.If you want to use this box for genuine services (Netflix, Hulu and the like) then you might be fortunate to get a better one than me because my box struggled to stream from any legitimate site and after several attempts at fixing problems I had to conclude that the box is at fault. You can spend a lot of time trying to fix it, checking your connection (wired or wireless) and still find you constantly encounter buffering problems and outright stoppages (even on a proven 30mbps connection). I was forced to do several hard resets with absolutely no improvements.The boot up time is relatively slow, worse is the constant problem with the clock and date settings (it should pull them from the internet but frequently fails to do so and won't remember the date and time if you set them manually and turn it off).This is not the only media box I've tried. I was disappointed by Roku and have yet to try a Fire TV but for me I would have to caution against this one.

Not good when you buy this as a gift
As previous person stated, remote control didn't work. Not good when you buy this as a gift.

GREAT UNIT, 2ND UNIT I OWN FOR MY HOME!
Bought this unit as a second unit for my home and let me say I do like it a great deal. I know some people have complained about the unit and/or the software. I have had no issue with either and I have learned online how to change that. If people took more time to youtube these boxes, they would see that they are almost all customization and there are a ton of videos showing you how.All in all I got this unit because of memory size and software version, I really have take the time to go over it and will not discuss their claims:* Android5.1 - CPU: Amlogic S905 Quad core frequency:2.0G GPU:Mali-450,5-Core - Very good specs and I have had no issue with it* Support HDMI 2.0 4k2k H.265 - I have run mine on HDMI on my HDTV and the videos look great. However be sure to watch HD movies, do not complain if it isn't HD.* RAM/Flash: 2G/16G - This is one of the main reason I got it, for the ram specs, more memory is better.* More I/O Interface: HDMI 1*port,2*USB 2.0,1* RJ45 ,1* AV port,1* SPDIF,1* DC jack,1*TF CARD - Numerous ports YAY!!!!!* Support 1 year warranty - Good stuff right there!I liked this unit because I know how to mess with these Kodi boxes, too me I have had no issues like some claim, but then not everyone is into taking the time to see what these can do with a little customization and a USB drive. People just want stand alone and not everyone is willing to dig deep into the units potentials.

Good entertainment android box.
This box is small so it doesn't take up a lot of space. It comes with Kodi 16.0 beta version on it. I updated it to Kodi 16.0 without any problems. The remote is ok but if you have a mini keyboard works better. The picture is great and the sound quality is great. The S905 processor is very good. I like that they give you a free hdmi cable with it. I received this box at a discount for my honest review.
