Great Introduction to Entomophagy
I got these because I'm interested in exploring entomophagy but I'm not yet at the point where I can pop a cricket in my mouth. I'm sure I'll get there, but it wasn't the right first step for me.I don't love the flavors of the bars, but it has nothing to do with the crickets. Even my husband, who was fairly appalled at the idea of eating bugs even in energy bar form, was pleasantly surprised at the lack of anything that could be discerned as an "insect" flavor. We just don't happen to love any of the flavor combos. I don't really want spiciness in my energy bars, and two of the bars had more bite than we like. The Chaco bar was our favorite. That being said, if the descriptions of the flavors appeal to you, the flavors do seem well balanced, and the big boost of protein from the crickets leads to a very filling bar without a ridiculous number of calories. They're not overly sweet, and even without loving the flavors I'm likely to reorder them.

Not so easy to find
I am a person who eats extremely healthy and am always looking for on-the-go foods that meet my needs. Not so easy to find. I cook a lot and sometimes I just don't want the hassle of packing and taking food with me. I like the idea of a sustainable food supply (I do eat meat, but realize its expensive and environmentally challenging to continue to be our main food source) that can be easily ground up and put into foods to fortify them. Cricket flour just makes sense. I really like the chocolate peanut butter, though they are all good. I was amazed at how much the box weighed! There is so much density to the bars that the price doesn't really relect that, In other words, I thought they were a little pricey compared to other bars, but there actually a great value due how nutrient dense they are. Great for me - gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, grain-free, etc. person Thanks Chapul!!

Like the flavor choices
These bars taste good. I bought them because I am looking for a high protein, low sugar snack. I wish they had a little less sugar but the flavor was good--the Lime/Coconut had a good strong lime flavor; the cayenne had good cayenne flavor, etc. They taste like what they are-no crickety flavor. I have no qualms about eating crickets, I've had dried mealworms, etc, as long as there as no recognizable body parts. There was a bar that had crunchy little toffee-like bits (the banana one?) that I couldn't finish because my imagination ran away with me. I think they were bits of nuts. I like supporting a sustainable protein source and will be getting the Lime ones again.

Worth the try, if anything!
I was curious about trying these cricket flour bars, so I figured that I'd get this sample pack for a trip. I rather enjoyed most of the bars (I wasn't particularly fond of the Thai bar), and so I'm giving this a five because it was worth the experience. If you want to live out your Snowpiercer fantasy, or are open to trying something different, I highly recommend giving this a shot. If/when I buy more, I will now know which flavors I prefer.

The flavors were fine, unobjectionable
The flavors were fine, unobjectionable, nothing to write home about. As a person who likes strong, unique tastes, I preferred the Thai inspired flavor. For less adventurous palettes I'd recommend chocolate peanut butter. None of them were too sweet. My only complaint is that I got some heartburn shortly after eating. I know it might not be the bars' fault at all, but I'm curious if others experience the same thing. In case anyone is wondering, there's nothing detectably cricket-like about them.

Chapul high protein cricket flour bars
I like what they did with the flavors on these bars. The matcha tea and banana has a good banana flavor. There is a ginger, coconut and lime. Usually you see vanilla or chocolate or something. It gets boring. There is one standard peanut butter and chocolate. Tastes good. And a really nice dark chocolate, coffee and cayenne. You can taste each of these flavors. The cayenne isn't too hot, just a nice amount that rounds it out. They aren't skimpy bars either; they're substantial. And 10 to 11 grams of a complete protein is pretty good too. They use monk fruit extract. They have chewiness and some crunch, cacao nibs and/or other. And no, they don't taste funny, like seafood, or like crickets to me. They just taste pretty good. I started by buying a 4 pack and almost immediately went back for the dozen.

Great Product
Very tasty. I was apprehensive initially about the cricket thing, however after eating these I have to say if the front of the package did not say cricket on it, you would never be able to tell what it is made out of. The consistency is about like other protein bars, but seem to be slightly more moist. I actually liked all of the flavors, but if I had to pick a favorite I would have to say probably the tea and banana. I already reordered the larger sampler.

Interesting experience.
We saw these on shark tank and decided to buy them because it was just too weird to pass up. They were surprisingly filling, even given their small sizes. However, I can't say any of the flavors were truly spectacular. Really only just detectable so that you don't feel like you're eating crickets (though they are a bit grainy...). Also, the flavor profiles weren't really my thing, but they were all eatable.Good for a one time fun buy, but way to expensive to be worth eating regularly in my opinion.
