Lovely paper for drawing and painting

Daren't use it yet...it's so beautiful.Going to practice my painting a little more first!

Needed a watercolour sketchbook that would help me loosen up my landscapes and this does the trick. The paper is VERY rough, being hand made, and is more of a creamy-white in colour, with pages varying in thickness somewhat with uneven hand made edges. The paper is sized and takes watercolour well…a little more absorbent than what I’m used to. The reasonable pricing makes it NOT intimidating to use, unlike those more refined, expensive hand-made watercolour books that seem to be kept in cupboards because they’re ‘too good’ to experiment with! Makes a great travel art journal if you are mainly into landscapes, but is far too rough for detailed work.

I love the books, the A5 size unfortunately did NOT have 35 pages only 20, no problem but please ret and send the right amount to the size of book, having said that the small one DOES ha e 35 pages.....don't let that put you off as they are EXCELLENT journaling books....

Used this today for a small watercolour landscape. It is beautiful cotton paper, perfect size and great for plein eir. Lovely to look at with its handmade pages and paint has gone on beautiful. Very happy customer, will be purchasing more

I love this sketchbook!It's tiny and not very expensive, and it has a lot of pages so it doesn't feel too "precious" (which often stops me from actually using other lovely notebooks I own).The pages have raw edges but the notebook itself is very neat with a hard cover (closing with an elastic) and a ribbon.I find it very good for watercolour sketching - it lets you become more at ease with this demanding technique. Because of the lovely handmade style of the pages, anything you draw or paint in it already looks better and more "arty" than it would on the simple plain page, which is also nice for beginners.

I bought this as it was described as watercolour paper in the blurb. However, I don't think the paper has been sized, making it almost impossible to use watercolour in the normal way. The paper sucks in all the moisture from the paint and it's just... terrible. Liking trying to paint on un-primed woodchip wallpaper. I think this sketchbook waould be perfectly good for drawing with various dry various media, and perhaps even thick gouache, but I don't think it should be sold as watercolour paper.

There seems to be some confusion about size. Had me worried. Measurement in listing seems accurate. Post card size. Perfect for watercolor sketching. Probably also pen and ink. Handmade paper elegantly left rougher than deckled and is thick. I think this will perform like those old made in India books that had brown handmade hardback paper covers. Mine came in navy hardbound cloth and is beautiful.

Provo questo tipo di carta con gli acquarelli per la prima volta, l'assorbenza è incredibile e si possono fare degli effetti bellissimi. L'unica cosa che bisogna sapere è che si rovina facilmente e se si strofina il pennello con troppa forza viene via lo strato superiore (ma immagino sia una caratteristica della carta non pressata). Consiglio di provarla, il rapporto qualità prezzo è ottimo.

Cet article est très sympa et parfait pour noter des idées mais il es vraiment petit et donc il faut bien regarder les mesures avant d’acheter.

Have not tried the paper yet, but was happily surprise by how neat it arrived!
