Easy drop-in replacement for a quieter experience
It really is amazing how quiet the printer becomes with this motherboard. I replaced my internal fan and now all you hear are the belts on fast movements. Easy swap-out for for my SV01 with the standard LCD and without BL-Touch. When I installed BLTouch I had to reflash the board but it was easy to do through OctoPrint. Couple of quick things to note;* The voltage pots on my Z-axis controller was set high and overheating it. Check your voltages if you notice this, just had to tune it down a little. Youtube is a great place to figure out how.* Just like the last board, this board will power up through USB even with the switch powered off. Make sure you use a power blocking USB cable or tape off the + lead on the usb-A portion of the wire.* Just like the previous board, this board has the capability to use dual extruder (has connections for extruder, cooler and temp sensor 2. It's an 8-bit board (as expected).* To remove the hot-glue off your existing board, pour some ISO rubbing alcohol (I use 91%) and let it sit for a few min. It won't short out the board, it'll dry up pretty quickly and the glue will just pull off. Of course make sure power is unplugged before doing so.

Works on Ender 5 Plus!
Yes this works for the Ender 5 plus! Also yes it has a pre installed boot loader. That being the case you don't need an Arduino to flash the creality firmware to it. This one does cost more but it's available much faster since creality is out of stock. There's a couple good YouTubes on doing the 2.2 quiet board and firmware upgrades. The short version : 1. Install the board 2. Install creality slicer on your computer. Ender 5 plus isn't listed just select ender 5 it doesn't matter just for the fw upgrade. 3. Power on printer (it'll just show creality and do nothing else for now) and connect to computer via USB 4. Locate the com port your printer is on 5. Use machine settings in creality slicer to select the com port and baud rate (115200) 6. Search online for the latest firmware it's linked from the YouTube video or on Facebook. CREALITY WEBSITE DOES NOT HAVE LATEST FIRMWARE WTF! You want version 1.70.1bl hex file this is the latest with the bl touch fixes. Select install custom firmware and select your downloaded hex file. The blue light on your newly installed board should blink quickly. When it's done you'll get a prompt saying "installed firmware 1.70.1bl" or whatever your file name was. 7. Disconnect and reset it should now boot up normally. It will however be in Chinese so navigate to the language option and switch to english and your good to go. Your printer will now be significantly more quiet! I also installed X and Y dampers to eliminate the remaining vibrational noises. You shouldn't have to do any of this bs to a $550 printer but here we are??

Great board (with a little elbow grease)
I bought this board to replace a defective 2.0 board that had the faulty capacitor which led to temp fluctuations.First and foremost... you cannot use this board out of the box in an original Creality CR-10S. The firmware on board is for a SOVOL printer and will not function properly. I ended downloading the TH3D unified firmware kit and compiling my own hex (I wanted mesh bed levelling and needed to adjust the thermal runaway timings). Fortunately the TH3D download comes with everything you need. I was able to compile and flash a new .hex in about 10 minutes.Post flashing the new board the install was a breeze (please make sure you label the cables before you uninstall the old board. It is a tight fit so it may be hard for folks with large hands so I recommend using some needle nose forceps or pliers to help with some of the small connections. With the new board my old CR-10S is back in business and IS SO QUIET. The integrated silencing smoothers make the cr-10s so very quiet. Aside from the fans there is barely any noise at all.I am very pleased with the product and would recommend it for anyone looking to replace a prior board version or just wanting to upgrade to the silent board from an existing 2.1 or 2.2 board.

Quiet as a whisper...works on Ender 5+
Similar to question posed... I installed this board and was thrilled when I initially turned it on because it was beautifully quiet. I flashed per instructions in the product description with the most recent E5+ firmware without issue and verified under info on E5+ screen. Unfortunately....now my BL Touch doesn't pass self check (just flashes red) and z home will not function properly which will crash extruder into plate. If it was a simple as flashing firmware as indicated in product description and worked as I expected I would give this a 5+ star review, because it is a huge improvement over the stock stepper drivers.Edit: Revising rating to 5 stars...I have no explanation as to why... but third time was a charm in terms of flashing the firmware. After my third time BL Touch and leveling just started to work. It seems there are instances when doing a firmware update to the Ender 5 plus it will indicate it completed successfully, but did not actually succeed for whatever reason. I couldn't be happier with this board and. Literally can hardly hear it move at all. Additionally Sovol Customer Service was wonderful. They even responded to my inquiry when the whole organization is closed due to the Coronavirus.

Install in my CRX (not Pro).
Like the description says, if installing in CRX board will need to be flashed for CRX. Don't forget the touchscreen file (flash) too. I did not install a BL touch, I like the old school leveling. I did not get the 5 cooling fin driver version, but board did have 5 voltage adjusters, and did not need to adjust the voltage rating for the motors. Quiet?oh yes!! Now my power supply fans, and mother board fan (stock) need to be changed...lol. Overall, this is a 2.2 version board, and now my CRX has the Creality 1.70.1 firmware which I needed to flash a couple of times (tried CURA first...nope), then xloader, and that worked. I'm only one and a half year into printing (54 yrs. old), I'm happy with what I spent, plus my original board and firmware was dying...so this worked for me.It's been a year since I purchased this board, and I have problems with the Z direction. I have purchased and adjusted as much of the aftermarket Z direction stablizers as I can get my hands on. I have placed markers on the support beams, to make sure the mechanicals are operating consistantly. I still have Z lag that I can't seem to be able to correct both with the machine or even the CURA 4.7, and 4.8 slicer. So... I'm going to remove this board and try another.
