the Amazing Spiderman collection
I'm so excited! I'm already a big fan of he Marvel Omnibi. They are like long cherished dreams and wishes finally coming true. All Walt Simonson Thor's in one? All Steve Ditko SM in one? And now all Todd McFarlane Spiderman in one? Pinch me, I must still be dreaming.I still think this is Todd's best work. I like the first Spawn issues, but compared to ASM they have a worse sense of storytelling, too much unnecessary detail, too obtrusive coloring and too much breaking of panels. All too often it looks messy. It may be because David Michelinie is a better writer than Todd. As I recall, the Spiderman series Todd drew (and wrote?) after he left AMS was already worse than his ASM run.But this book is a joy to read. Sometimes you enjoy a comicbook, but when you read it 10 years or so later you think: wait a minute...did I ever enjoy this?? This not as good as I remember. This is crap! Not so with this book. It's actually better than I remember it. The artwork is still mesmerizing to look at, the story and dialogue so funny and breezy. I love the impossible poses, the proper pacing between action and drama, the cute faces (even Venom looks cute), the copious pinups of Mary Jane and the comedy (Spiderman in a gala suit...LOL)The book also contains 26 covers Todd did with SM. The quality of the book is standard Omnibus quality: excellent, if not perfect. Marvel has some pretty good editors working nowadays, who know (and probably love) what they're doing.Actually, the only thing I could find that withholds this book from being absolutely perfect is that there's a lot of references to other issues: see Spectacular #217 - Ed. See X-Factor, etc. But I'm still excited.

Very Cool
I really like this Omnibus its a collection from a great age of comic books. Spider-man is such an enjoyable Character that its hard to not like him but this collection is some of the funfest of Spider-man's story. This book includes the introduction of Venom, and not just one Venom Story but two! My only complaint is that Todd McFarlene didn't really contribute to the omnibus no introduction or letter in the book I would have liked to hear his thought looking back on something he did 20+ years ago.But all in all a great collection for any comic book collector, and if you already own the issues sell them take the profit and buy this beautiful collection! well worth it

スパイダーマンの名アーティスト、トッド・マクファーレンのオムニバス
Amazing Spider-Man誌の296-329とSpectacular Spider-Man Annual #10を集めたものを収録。

A MUST-HAVE for Todd McFarlane fans
It should be pointed out that the official description for this item does not do it justice. In addition to every Todd McFarlane/David Michelinie issue of Amazing Spider-Man, the book also gives you the covers McFarlane drew for Marvel Tales (issues 223-239), the front and back covers from the original "Spider-Man versus Venom" TPB, a two-page Batman spoof from "What The?," a few more miscellaneous covers & pin-ups, and some illustrations from the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe. So not only do you get his take on the classic Spidey rogues that he drew during his run on Amazing, there's some X-Men eye candy in there as well. And hey, don't forget his collaborator! This volume collects roughly the first third of David Michelinie's run on the title, spanning from Amazing Spider-Man #296 to #329. Michelinie would stay on Amazing through issue 388, winding up behind only Stan Lee and Gerry Conway in terms of longevity on the title. As for the material itself, it aint Watchmen but if you're looking for a fun read and some cool art, this book fits the bill.
