BERKLEY Someone to Romance

Mary Balogh at her worst is often better than 99% of other writers in the historical romance genre.However, I am judging this to her other books and am finding it sadly lacking. In fact the last three in the Westcott series have been disappointing.There is just too much about the other members of the family. Yes we get the Westcott's are a loving and supportive family, but we don't need a dozen of them cropping up constantly. It just takes away from the story line, when it could have concentrated on Jessica, the actual romance and a couple of people she was close to like her half brother. Abigail did not feature at all other than a few mentions about Jessica possibly feeling a bit resentful that she hadn't married before due to supporting Abigail.If Mary Balogh feels the need to mention all the family member, maybe she should write a epilogue chapter that brings us up to speed on what everyone else is doing.

As usual all her books interesting to read.
