Delight in the Details
What a fantastic introduction to the board game hobby. With a familiar presentation, and easy-to-learn mechanics, this game will make a believer of any skeptics. Everything about this game feels well-crafted and it delights in the details meant to bring people into the world. The feel of the package, the snap of the cards, and the weight of the packets of case cards as you take them out for each play session provide a tangible sense of satisfaction. The set-up and wrap-up to each case, provided by narration by either a prerecorded Watson or a willing friend, give a flavor to the world and the case that primes the players wonderfully for an enjoyable session. At the end, players will compare notes and excitedly flip over location cards they haven't been to yet, exclaiming "if only I had been to this location earlier!" or "Wow, I was completely wrong!" When you win, you feel like a genius, when you lose, you still delight in just how granular the path to success was and laugh at yourself for not being more careful! The easy cases may be a little too easy once you know what to look for, but the more challenging ones keep you in the dark, unsure of what to do and challenging your assumptions with each passing turn. I cannot recommend this game enough to anyone looking for either a fun, challenging puzzle game to play with friends, or even someone trying to lure their friends into board gaming. Every bit of this game helps you buy into the premise, from the presentation to the non-stop tension as you and your friends creep closer to the solution to each case. Let's hope that Dr. Watson opens up his casebook again soon, we can't wait to see more.

Love the game
I bought this for my Dad's birthday, he's someone that wants 'nothing for his birthday'. So I decided to get something for the family. After lots of research I settled on Watson & Holmes and glad I did. We have played 1 crime scene so far (easy level which isn't easy in our opinion) which was really engaging. We were 4 players and worked perfectly. This isn't a team game and you have to hide your answers from the person sitting next to you. If you are looking to solve mysteries as a family/couple, then I'd probably recommend a different one.Love the game because you have to think and be a real detective. Also the equipment is good quality and has an old-fashioned feel.Highly recommend it.

It's Elementary, My Dear Amazonians!
We have been obsessed about this game! It's been so fun! We've been working through a case each night since we got it! Here are my thoughts:PROS:There are 13 cases and they each take about an hour to complete. This leaves you with well over 13 hours of game play. The cases are difficult enough that sometimes someone thinks they have the answer, but they don't! So you can take your time and really try to figure each case out without worrying someone else has solved it quickly. It's mentally challenging and fun to compete against others to see who can come up with the solution. We've had a couple of cases where none of us have solved it! Somehow, we still love playing even if we don't win!CONS:As much as I love this game, I do have a couple of issues. I don't think the rules are clearly written out and easy to understand. I also think with the character cards, carriage coins, etc, this game was made a little more difficult than it had to be. We do like being able to lock a card to slow down your opponents, but the other extras are a little difficult to incorporate into the game. With that said, you can play it without all the extras and still have a great time! Also, the suggested game play age for this is 12+, but my 12 and 17 year olds have a really hard time deducing and deciphering what they have just read. I think this game is best suited for adults.

Great game!
This game plays very different then most... it's a quiet brain burner that will challenge your deductive reasoning... very much enjoyed by our family.
