Just a great book for those of us who want to know more about this late beautiful Hollywood star.It touches on events and relationships that turned this most beautiful, gifted and talented Lady from such a sweet, considerate young girl (who looks so happy in photos caressing her pet rabbit [not in this book], and who actually brought an unusual family pet [gotta read the book] with her to Hollywood)...to a sweet, considerate and giving, but alcoholic, course and used up, yet still highly professional Hollywood Star.An "if only" story that can tear your heart out. great book of an unlucky woman. very readable.

A very interesting story of a beautiful woman and her not always easy life. I hadn't realized she was so very young when she started her career. I already knew how Darnell died. Reading about it in this book was difficult, and very, very sad. Her work on the screen deserves more attention than it gets these days.

When you get a hollywood biography of the golden era, this is what you look for. Davis has insight from all the family members and many of Darnell's contemporaries to paint a full portrait of a really tragic star who died much too soon. Fortunately the book while it shed's light on her youthful rise to fame and early decent to heartbreak and alcoholism, it still helps you appreciate the beauty of Darnell's work and spirit as much as her looks.

I chose this classification because the book tells of a very special way the history of this wonderful actress and a lovely woman.I like everything.I would recommend this book to all those who, like me, admire great woman and is interested in the lives of great actresses of the film world.

Interesting information about one of the beauties of 1940's Hollywood. Her life was not the happy ending of many of her movies.

Well told account of the life & tragic death of Linda Darnel
