Installed without a problem

I'm using an older pioneer head unit that has its aux. input on the back of the unit. On install I plugged a cable into and ran it through the dash where I could use MP3 players ect. About every 3 months I would have to replace the cheap cables and It was getting frustrating. The cables I was using all seemed to go bad at the end plugged in on my side not behind the head unit. I found this extension cable and figured I'd give it a try. Assuming this extension cable holds up, I may still have to buy new cables but I won't have to pull the dash apart and remove the head unit....again.I was a little concerned about signal loss due to the additional connections but sounds as loud and clear as it did before. I also moved to a better quality cable so maybe I won't have to replace it so often.I didn't use the plastic bracket thing, I drilled a hole the size of the outer base of the female end of the plug and used a dab of super glue to hold it in the dash from the back. Looks great.

This aux extension works great. It was just what I needed for the ammo can speaker box I built. I didn't use the mounting hardware that was included. Instead, I drilled a hole in an existing plate and used a bit of epoxy to hold the plug in place.
