Apple MFI Certified Lightning Cable APXX 3ft 8-Pin Lightning to USB Cable with Nylon Braided for iPhone 5/5s/5c/6/6 Plus, iPad Air/Air2, iPad Mini

This worked great at first! It allowed me to charge my phone, unlike my other two(?) dying cords that I had for about a year-ish. It seemed pretty sturdy at first and I had no problems...until about three months later. At month 4, I started having issues with it working. Month 5 digressed even more, and now, at/by month 6, it practically doesn’t work. The cord itself also looks like it was put through the wringer and can’t get untwisted (some places look as if it was tightly twisted and it stuck there, though I always made an effort to not loop it too tightly.) I’ve bought cheaper cords not certified that have lasted longer. This was a travel cord for me, and it worked fine for a short while, but then stopped efficiently working. It wasn’t as if I chewed on it, stuck it in the freezer, or decided to bake it with my cookies. I did what I could to take VERY good care of this cord to preserve it, but to no avail. It didn’t even last but 5 months, and even by month 5 I was having more and more issues with it working. ):

I’ve purchased about 6 of these 6 ft length and an additional 4 3 ft over the past 16 months for various places in the home and our vehicles. The braided wrapping feels and looks more quality than the standard rubber encasing; however...I’ve begun to notice the attached devices not charging on a couple of the cables. When the device is plugged into another cable in the same outlet, it charges fine. Switching the “bad” cable to a different outlet still demonstrates the failing to charge behavior. Also to note, there are no signs of damage to the cables themselves.With this in mind, I am not sure if it’s the batch I purchased in Jan ‘17 or Jun ‘17, so I cant be certain on the lifespan before demonstrating failures; however, I am estimating between a 12-18 month lifespan (on perhaps a defective batch).I’ve purchased a new set of braided cables from a different manufacturer to replace the defective ones and hope I get better results.Rating 4 out of 5 due to the failing cables but feel the price and price for the lifespan is fairly reasonable (a new cable every 12-18 months isn’t that bad, especially for the sturdiness of it).

This is a really good lightning cable. It works great for my iPhone 6 Plus and my iPad with no errors or problems. It fits fine with my Pelican case even though it is a little larger than the iPhone cords. It is very heavy duty and should last a long time. It is covered with a nylon braid that makes it thicker and sturdier than most cables. It also makes it harder to wrap around my Bobino cord wrap-I had to use a larger size-but that is a small price to pay for strength and durability. The 6 ft length is great.And finally the price was great.

I've now gone through a handful of these cables. I ordered them because I was looking for a well-built, durable cable - one that in particular would stand up to being abused being the cable left connected in a car.As it happens, they didn't get that far. I've been using them throughout the house, left in one place and used to charge devices while we sit, or to charge overnight. All of them have now failed - plug them in and either nothing happens, or else the device briefly starts to charge and then stops. Swap out the cable for another - keeping the same device and same power source - and everything works as expected. Sometimes if you wiggle the wire the device will start to charge and then stop again. This is as benign an application as you could ask for, but now the last of the ones I'd purchased has failed, this one after 10 months.Short version: They look like they're well built and durable. They're not. Buy something else.

I gave this Apple certified lightning 10 foot cable a two star. Only because it’s a two pack and just one cable went out. This was in two weeks from my buying it. The cables are nice but, for whatever reason the insides just did not last long, I’m now using the second one. I hope that it does not break on me as well. But here’s the crazy part, I re-ordered this because I think maybe I just got a lemon in this one. And only time will tell, when the second set get here and are used for sure.

I used this product for exactly one day. It worked great for that day. The next day I could not charge my phone at all. Unusually my iPhone dings when a charging cord is connected and this did not the second day. My 3 foot lightening cable from Apple works great. So, I know the problem is this cord and not my phone, charging unit, that connects u to the outlet or anything else that I own. This cord does not work, no if’s ands or buts.

I have gone through 3 or 4 cables just this year. They all had the same problem - the plastic covering would crack near my device, and I’d have exposed wires. I’ve used this cord constantly for 2 months, and it looks the way it looked when they arrived. This braided cable is the only kind I will buy in the future. Worth every penny!

This is the third of these cords I have owned. I really like their length and toughness. I think you could tow a car with on of these. They are not real flexible but they get the job done, the big question in life span. I have never had an Apple issue cord quit working on me. I have now had two of these quit. You may ask, then why do I keep getting them. The company offers great service. They have replaced the tow that quit working so I bought this one for my family room so we can charge pads and phones when they need it.
