how come this says it wont fit a 1996 dodge 3500 4wd but it says it will work on the moog website and advance auto parts?

Cross reference with your local auto parts store "Napa" or even look it up on "Rockauto". This size U-joint is used on other 1 tons & 3/4 ton trucks in my case Fords. On Rockauto it is shown fitting the front axle left & right outer positions (#9) on a 1996 Ram 3500 5.9l pickup. Good luck!

Fit perfect on 2008 f250 Xlt crewcab

Wow was scared to replace these but watched two YouTube videos by two different people to get an idea of how to. But I was not able to bang them out like they did in the video. Your mileage may vary but I used one of those harbor freight circular cutting discs to cut it in half and then it came out easily. I recommend doing this because I actually slightly bend one part of the freaking thick metal end where these unjointed attach to. So much so that the c clips would not clip on properly. After a bit of filing the inside of the metal arm so that the c clip had a bit more clearance the c clip it. Do yourself a favor don’t try to bang it out without cutting those old ujoint in half so that u only have to bang out a short stub. Also use a large bolt otherwise you’ll damage the surface and possibly also bend the metal
