Prior to using the masks for the first time, I decided to hand-wash one of the masks in warm water as recommended by the manufacturer. I used a small amount of Ivory soap (hand bar) so as not to expose the mask to any harsh chemicals. When I rinsed the mask, the rinse water was colored pink! The question is, where did this pink coloration come from? The mask does not appear to be composed of any red-colored materials. I'm wondering if this pink-colored rinse water is an indication that the zinc nanoparticle coating has in some way been adversely affected by the simple act of washing in plain soapy water.At this point, I'm not sure how safe it would be to wear these masks. Once dry, I would not want to inhale whatever substance it was that produced the pink coloration. And if the coloration came from the zinc coating being compromised, the masks would likely no longer be effective in neutralizing any potential pathogens.On a side note, the masks did not come with any separate nose-bridge clips, as some have mentioned, nor did the masks come with any pouch(s).*** UPDATE ***It has been almost 3 weeks since I originally submitted this review, yet I have not received any feedback from Sonovia regarding my experience with their mask. Additionally, shortly after submitting this review, I submitted similar feedback on Sonovia's storefront page on Amazon; there was no response to that feedback either.If you look at a couple of the 5-star reviews for this product, you'll notice that Sonovia went out of their way to thank those customers for their purchase and for their positive review. It only took Sonovia a few days from the time the customers submitted their review for Sonovia to express its gratitude!One individual posted on Sonovia's storefront page about how she wanted to return one of the two masks she had purchased. She explained that her husband had refused to wear the mask due its outrageous price. Well, guess what: the company reached out to her and negotiated a price that was acceptable so that she wouldn't have to return the mask.What does all of this suggest? It suggests that this company, Sonovia, is more interested in promoting its products and generating sales than it is at addressing a potential safety and/or performance issue with their product.Bottom Line:Think twice before you buy these masks. If you've already purchased them and it's within Amazon's return period, by all means, return them. If not, just discard them and chalk it up to a very costly learning experience.

I recently ordered this mask. I thought it would be smart to have a more protective mask for higher risk situations like being on a plane or working out with my trainer. So i wore it once while i worked out with my trainer (he was wearing a standard reusable mask) and I got Covid. I’m 99% certain I contracted from my trainer because he tested positive 4 days after our workout and then I tested positive. So you judge for yourself on its effectiveness.

I purchased this mask for use at work with really high hopes. I wore this mask on 2 occasions for approximately 2 hours each time. Both times I experienced irritation on the cartilage in my nose. When looking in the mirror I noticed that the cartilage in my nose looked red and irritated. I don't think this is coincidence, I use surgical masks on a daily basis without irritation. I messaged the company through Amazon asking directly if I'm inhaling the zinc nano particles when wearing this mask and if so could this be causing the irritation. They did not answer my question directly with a yes or no. Instead they sent a link to a study saying that zinc is good in my diet and that the zinc they use is 240 microns, which is safe on human cells. Diet is obviously different than inhalation hazards so now I'm concerned they are willfully misleading me. I replied trying to understand further about the product in order to quell my concerns. At this point I was told to see the FAQ page on their site and ask questions there. I'm giving this a one star until my concerns are better addressed.

There are 2 tests that can tell if your mask is effective. One is to try to blow a a candle through the mask while wearing it. If the candle goes out, the mask is uselesss. The other is to let few drops of water sit on the outside of the mask when it is off., If the water beads up, the mask is safe. If the water is absorbed, the mask is not effective. The Sonovia passes the candle test, but failed the water test---a drop-off water was absorbed and penetrated the fabric.

The SonoMask supposedly kills virus particles due to it's unique nanoparticle coating. Whether this is true or not, I really don't know. Early research looks promising. But since masks are here to stay, and I generally hate every mask I own, I decided to try this decidedly expensive mask. First surprise is that it arrived from Israel to the US West Coast in record time. Seemed like only a couple of days, amazing. Then the mask itself is very well made, and to date it's my favorite mask. The reason is that (perhaps) the magic zinc coating gives the material some rigidity. This means it's outward shape stays put even while talking. Other masks actually get sucked into my mouth when inhaling. The adjustable ear straps are a bit mysterious to me, but the default position works fine. They also make a version that goes around the head, but I've found those kind of straps to be a.) more comfortable, but b.) a pain to put on and take off. So, there you have it. An expensive, but very nice mask. As for the coating, we shall see, I think the jury is still out.

VERY SKIMPY CUT -- WAY TOO SMALL FOR MY FACE/HEAD. DESIGNED FOR SMALL FOLK. USELESS TO ME AS IS. I GUESS I'LL NEED TO ENLARGE IT MYSELF. ASKED FOR MEN;S SIZE REPLACEMENT BUT THAT WAS IDENTICAL TO THE SMALL ONE. WASTE OF $50. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO SELL THIS TO NORMAL SIZED MEN.

This fabric is really bad! All the color faded!Just for what a payed this mask should be made of a strong and good fabric.My other black masks cost me 2 -5 dollars and the collor is perfect!

What the product does (based on testing to which they refer in their website) is wonderful. Their science is impressive, their mask making skills leave something to be desired. I suggest that for most women buy the men's mask. For most men I suggest plastic surgery to have the distance between your chin and the bridge of your nose reduced by 1/4 inch to a 1/2 inch before buying the mask

It is a remarkably robust mask, comfortable to wear throughout the day. I have had it for some weeks with almost daily use.

This fits well, the straps are adjustable which makes it comfortable and secure.The nose wire doesn't make it quite as tight as I'd like, but to be fair, I've not tried any others that are better.As for the safety it promises, well, I can't tell about that.

Easier to breathe than disposal masks, and with a reassurance that will be fighting virus at each use.

It's well made. It's thin, but it's supposed to be as it's way of working is to attack the virus rather than just trapping it. You can't tell if it works as well as they say but if it does its good value. The big negative is that the nose clip needs to be more robust but you could fix that quite easily.
