Expensive but Quality
I was apprehensive about spending this much on boots. How good could they be? Pretty darn good. I’m just finishing breaking them in. A few light hikes so far. Wearing them to the office now, but ultimately they’ll be worn for upland bird hunting in a few different terrains in New Mexico. Needed a durable boot that would transition between mountain and flat desert hunts. This is a thick, supportive boot that holds up to brush, shale rock and cactus. More comfortable than snake boots which I can’t stand wearing. Quick break in required… there were 2 tight spots that have stretched as needed. Great boot. Now my wife wants some.

An awesome boot with horrible insoles
Great boot, horrible insoles, about as good as a styrofoam plate. Added timberland work insoles, lil tight top to bottom, but they stretch.Lowa are great boots, especially if your a large critter like me. They last and are of great quality. Dont know why they wont work on the insoles though.. they wont allow your feet to roll off the side, lace up nice

Comfortable but colors are deceptive
I bought these after many hours of research on a light hiking mid level boot. They are made in Slovakia and are of very high quality. At a local store I had tried on Asolo boots as my first choice, but they were immediately uncomfortable no matter what size I tried. It was risky to get these boots online, but I could not find any local retailer that sold them. With Amazon's no questions asked return policy however, I decided to try them anyway. They were extremely comfortable as soon as I put them on. The review videos online that say the boot does not even need to be broken in are true. The only negative I have is that the colors mine came in are not as advertised on Amazon. As the picture shows for these, I expected a boot with a black support structure on the bottom. However, the boot I was sold has a dark beige color instead. Just be aware that the color scheme has apparently changed from the manufacturer, and Amazon's photos are not always accurate. I'll be keeping mine regardless of the color differences.Just in case it helps you while buying, the size for the Asolos that I tried on at a local store was the same size I ordered these in online. If you have a retailer that sells Asolos, you can use those as a way to get your Lowa size--without worrying about getting it right since boot sizes tend to differ greatly sometimes.

great boot
i normally wear salomon shoes but wanted something else for a boot, so far fits just as well as salomons do, i wear 11W in salomons, no Wide option for the Lowa upon purchase but not necessary, so just size 11 fits just as well, toe feels stiff but these are new and i'm sure will wear in over time, so no concern. fit and finish is great. my previous pair of boots were the Under Armour Speed Freek i've owned for almost a decade, were also goretex, and i won't be surprised if these will also get spicy in the heat, these are much more comfortable than the UA fwiw.
