Thompson Chain-Reference Bible King James Version/Large Print/Plain/Deluxe Black Leather Paperback – Large Print, January 1, 2001

The Thompson Chain Reference Bible (KJV) is without a doubt the best bible I own. Like many of the other reviewers I own the ESV study bible, Macarthur's study bible, Ryrie's Nasb study bible, and The Chronological Study Bible by Thomas Nelson (awesome bible by the way...highly recommended!!) however, the construction of this bible is absolutely beautiful. I purchased the Large Print Edition in black bonded leather. Mine didn't come with many of the flaws others have mentioned in their review. It was printed in the USA and says 15th printing April 2010 inside. The binding is Smyth Sewn but the real highlight of this bible is the paper!!! It has a thickness to it that I've never felt before in any bible yet maintains a bible paper like feel. I am an avid note taker so this was a plus for me. I can highlight and write to my hearts content without much bleed through. I can't say the same with other bibles I own. The method of study that this bible uses is great too. Being able to trace any given topic throughout the whole bible is awesome. The study helps located at the back of the book are extremely helpful too. Others have explained ,at length, the contents of the Thompson Chain so I won't repeat too much. This version isn't too bulky either so no need to worry there. This has become my main bible as of late and a great purchase! So much so that I'm going to purchase another one in genuine leather. To those who don't own a Thompson chain this is a must buy!! For those that already own one but are worried about quality, Kirkbride seems to have fixed those issues so I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one.

Got it for Father’s Day to replace my dad’s old one, and he loved it! It’s good quality, real leather, large print, and has the usual maps in the back, references, and red lettered New Testament. The pages were a bit thin, but other than that, it’s a solid book.

Wasn't always a KJV fan but, since the uncovering of all the reclusions in the other versions (my favorite included), this is now the choice for me. The leather is a must and well done. And, as well, the Thompson Chain Reference has been included in every Bible I own since I knew it existed.

Great bible, but too big and the Bible text is small but the study helps are large print. I would rather have the Bible text large print.

Very good Bibles very good quality it was not large print but I was satisfied it's said that it was large print but it wasn't when I got it!!

Great Bible in my opinion. I bought it as a gift for a colleague. Nice size font. Opens flat. Chain reference is a good study help. This particular version is the thinner bonded leather cover.
