Samsung Red LED clip-on chart and reading light for night vision

I was hoping to use this for reading charts while I'm flying at night but it will probably end up being a back-up unit when I find something better. The head of this item is mounted an an awkward angle that makes it difficult to position. The beam has a really bright spot which makes it necessary to constantly re-adjust. The battery is actually held in by a piece of sponge in the case. If that piece of sponge falls out then it won't turn on. Very cheap feeling. This is not something I can rely on for flying. Maybe I'll give it to the kids so they can read a book in the back seat

Great light. It would be even better if it was free standing as well as a clip on.

The light broke after not to many uses. I guess I twisted the light to many times.

Horribly awkward to use. The clip grippers slide around on smooth surfaces, and don't really grip and stay on thinner things (like a Kindle) and are situated in such a strange way that it makes it difficult to position the light right. Forget about using this with your non illuminated Kindle (which is the reason I bought this).The light has patterns and rings (very distracting) that show up on your reading material as the light area goes from bright in the center to dark edges quickly. It renders itself useless as in order to see the page that you're reading (even close to fully lit), you'd have to un-clip the light and hold it much further away the the arm of the light would allow. Am sorry I bought this. Far too expensive at $12 for what it is.Pictures... Both taken of light used on it's own instruction cardone is with light of room, one is just the light.Wanted to return, but waiting on a half hour long line at post office to return ship $12 item is just not worth it.

I got this because red light doesn't kill your night vision. It works great. Love being able to see after using it to read at night.

Bought to use with my kindle. Arm is way to long, light beam is WAY to narrow. The LED brightness ended up causing a major glare preventing me from seeing the text. The clip was also a little weak for how long and heavy the whole assembly was so if I moved the kindle the LED would wiggle so I would have to readjust. Might be OK for stationary, non reflective surfaces like paper but nothing else. I ultimately ended up removing the metal arm and attaching the LED housing directly to the clip so the LED housing was at an angle casting the red light over the kindle. I also had to put a couple pieces of opaque tape over the LED to diffuse the brightness some.

I use it to sketch what I see in my telescope at night. Very nice eye saving red light and adjustable, too.

What a poor purchase.... poor quality, shorts out, very difficult to turn on and barely lights up anything. Has to be held upside down to turn on then when you turn it right side up it turns off. Don't waste your money. I certainly wasted mine. You got one over on me.....
