I only used this once. I am not sure about the smell it’s definitely sulfur smell. But i normally have a itchy burn scalp after i wash and it did not happen. I dont see any flakes after use. I will say i am white with 3b curly hair that is normally super dry. I have been on a hunt for a dandruff shampoo that will not dry out my curls. I came across this name in a thread on ethnic hair and so far i am glad i tried it.

Always use a good organic conditioner. As with most sulfur based shampoos, it can dry the hair out. I wouldn't use it everyday.
