Journey in Color: French Baroque Coloring Book Paperback – Coloring Book, March 1, 2016

There are so many coloring books out there, but this one is eye-catching and unique. There are a lot of different designs with varying detail, so there are a lot of options to work through. My favorite is the page with Marie Antoinette and her iconic ship-hairdo, her Coiffure a la Belle-Poule. I've been having fun experimenting with a combination of watercolors and pencils for this book - the gel pens don't seem quite right because of the loose art style.

This is a great coloring book. I hadn't gotten that into adult coloring yet, because so many of the coloring books were the same old paisley/mandala drawings. I wanted something a little more fanciful, and fantastic artist Molly Hatch really delivered. The paper is high quality, and provided I don't use anything super wet, holds up to markers and colored pencils equally well. I'll probably come back to order some for friends, as I can imagine they'd also enjoy filling in such fancy pages.
