Sesame Street: Let's Go Potty, Elmo!

Great book, still no potty.
Lovely book to read with my daughter who is a huge Elmo fan. She fully understands the power of the potty but refuses to use it. Good try though Elmo, thanks pal.

Let’s potty! But not explain what that is
Very strange. Going potty involves sitting on the toilet, using paper, flushing, and washing hands. That’s great but…toddlers just gonna sit there then. I have to read the story and add my own narrative. “Elmo has to go pee pee in the toilet!” Because that key piece of info is missing. So unfortunately the only things this is teaching is that your normal bodily functions are embarrassing and not to be talked about. As if every living being doesn’t pee or poo

I thought better of Sesame Street
I'm giving this book two stars (instead of zero) because my toddler *adores* it. That said, he'd adore anything with Elmo, so...But this book is *not* helpful with potty training. It is full of euphemisms, exactly the sort you try to avoid when potty training. For example, one page says "Elmo gets on the potty, and the next sentence starts "When Elmo is done". How does that help my kid, who is just learning how to use a potty? It elides the whole thing. To be fair, it does explicitly include Elmo remembering to "use toilet paper, but not too much" (euphemistically describing what for), and does also explicitly show washing your hands. So I suppose if that is all you're trying to teach, it's not useless. But that is all.And finally, it calls itself sturdy, but it took my not-yet-2-yr-old approximately 2 weeks to break every tab, push, etc in the whole thing, and he was being pretty gentle. But the tabs bent when he pushed them in at *slightly* the wrong angle, and the spinning wheel (you spin to flush) doesn't turn anymore, it must be caught on something but I don't know what.So I would not recommend this purchase. There are better Sesame Street potty books.

Pehaps better for older tots who are already toilet trained.
This story is focused on Elmo needing "to go" when he is at a friend's house. Not directly helpful with the mechanics of basic potty training. That being said, my two year old daughter loves the book probably because it has Elmo in it. A nice size for toddler hands, with pull tabs and lovely colours and pics. Helpful with the etiquette of "going" when out side of the house.

Great, but tricky for tots
Great story, the pull tabs are oddly stiff for my 2 year old unless they are pulled directly straight out, can't be on any angle
