The SILX king size silk-filled pillow is the perfect alternative to down, cotton, wool or any other pillow filling. It is 100-percent natural, hypoallergenic and inhospitable to dust mites. The silk-fibers inside the comforter are long strands of mulberry silk, which have the length of about 1300-feet. Silk fibers are the strongest natural fiber and are also a natural fire retardant. Half the weight of down, silk drapes to your body, eliminating cold spots. Due to it's low moisture retention, the silk-filled comforter is also mildew resistant. The hand-stretched silk batting never wanders or bunches. Silk fibers are composed of 18 amino acids, which are similar to and found in human skin . The silk pillow is covered with a 260 thread count cotton cover. The king size silk-filled pillow measures 20-inch by 36-inch.

Flat Pillow for Neck/Spine Alignment
This pillow is the 7th pillow arrangement I tried in 2 months and the only one I kept.Make no mistake, it's a flat pillow. I use it for sleeping on my back. I had tried the Silx double-filled version but it was too thick and gave me neck pain every day. One reviewer commented that it was like sleeping on a towel -- yes in that this pillow is flat like a folded bath towel, no in that it's softer than sleeping on a bath towel (believe me, I was using a bath towel for several nights).I like this pillow because it's the only one flat enough (that I found, but not too flat) that gives me the correct neck-spine alignment. It's not the same as not having a pillow -- the head and neck would be at a different angle (I tried sleeping without a pillow as well). I am using it after a spine injury. Normal people may use it for sleeping on their tummies. If you happen to like really flat pillows I'd recommend you give it a try.Cons: (1) there is a smell when it's new but it dissipates after several days (2) it requires re-fluffing every evening and the filling is prone to shift.I just purchased the Boudoir size so as to use for traveling.Update 1/12/2016: I lowered the pillow from 4 stars to 2 stars. The pillow scrunches up in the middle of the night and causes my head and neck to scrunch with it, causing horrible neck pain by morning. I've since switched to using a folded fleece blanket .. the polyester fleece has some bounce which makes it much more comfortable than using a folded towel. No more neck pain in the morning.

Good quality but not firm enough
This pillow is made with excellent quality. We like the idea that silk is naturally resistant to dust mites. However, after trying it out for a few minutes we had to return it. My wife wants a flat firm pillow. This pillow is flat, but it is very soft and squishy. So when lying on your back it is almost like not having a pillow at all. We were disappointed because we really wanted to like this one. My wife sleeps on her back and side. Obviously when on your side this pillow will not be adequate.

LOVE my silx boudoir pillow!
Boudoir size in perfect for taking on the plane or napping in a car! It just needs a silk pillow case or two, which you can buy at really reasonable prices through a variety of sources. It is just the perfect balance between soft and supportive, and because silk is a natural fiber, your neck will not get hot and sweaty as it does with inflatable of synthetics-filled travel pillows. A zip-around storage case is included, and, as always, Amazon's customer service and delivery time are unbeatable!!!

Very thin
I couldn't decide whether to give this one or two stars but for the price decided one star would be right. It is extremely thin and very small and like sleeping on a folded towel. Wouldn't recommend unless you have to have a travel pillow and have to have silk. I returned it.

Love flat pillows!
Silk pillows are my favorite - soft and quishy like feathers but don't bother allergies. I would have preferred it be regular size instead of queen.

Expensive but worth it.
I purchased two of these one for my wife and one for myself. I have used many many many pillows in my 50 something years. I have allergies and now as I have aged a bit I can get stiff necks with bad pillow support. I have used down foam cotton polyfill wool 1 pillow 2 pillows 3 pillows even 4. So After a lousy nights sleep with an allergy designed pillow that stayed too puffed up due to the dust mite cover I went to amazon and searched for silk pillows. This came up and I told my wife I would buy one and let her try it. She likes it and I purchased A second one for myself. I am using it alone and I snore a bit less and no stiff necks. I have used it more then a month and will follow up on this as it is a very expensive item.. I would hope that it would last more then 5 years due to the price. Between this and the air filters I reviewed on this site I have not used an inhaler in more then 5 years. ( life long Asthma sufferer.) So this may help you if you have trouble sleeping. The air filter was really good this is more of a tweak.____________________________________________ __________________________Follow up July 18th. I am still liking the pillow and it has had a price drop. I may buy another one.
