What a mess!
We tried making pizza mountain pies. Generously buttered bread, made sure contents were centered on bread, and we ended up having to chisel them out with a knife. Ended up soaking them overnight just to be able to clean them. We have made mountain pies for years and never had an experience like that.

Great Pie Maker
We have several cast iron pie makers already and were looking for a Palmer one like my grandparents have (that they've literally used for decades). We wanted it to crimp the edges. When it arrived, we almost sent it back because, although it didn't appear flimsy or cheaply made, it did look appear to be aluminum (the packaging doesn't specify the material). After a few weeks of it sitting around, we decided to try it instead of sending it back, and we're glad we did! It's nonstick coating works wonderfully, and it makes great pies. It out performs the pie makers we already owned; we'd definitely buy again.

Lightweight
Its Aluminum. I had a Palmer when I was younger that was cast-iron and it was a much better product. I am very careful with this one as it feels like it could break at anytime. I understand the switch to a cheaper material but at least put it in the description (clearly) and lower the price....

RIP
I don't think this is iron. Used it for one day and this is what happened. It is obviously not as presented and this should not have happened.

World greatest pie iron
We've used Palmer pie irons for years, but my daughter left our aluminum one in the hot part of the fire way too long and it melted. I don't expect to have that problem with this new iron model. We've owned other brands in the past, but they don't seal the sandwich well and we always struggle with the pieces coming apart. My girls always fought over the Palmer.Favorites - fill bread with pizza sauce, cheese, and sausage. At the end of the meal we make a few more filled with apple pie filling. Yum.

Non stick is a joke!
Worst product ever. The non stick is a joke. No where does it say they are aluminum. I sincerely thought I was purchasing cast iron, the recommended type. Out $70. Not worth it. Buy another brand.
