I am a retired fire department EMT. Medical protocol on tourniquet application changes from time to time. As of now, the tourniquet protocol for citizen basic first aid allows it's use under certain circumstances (Be sure to check your local protocol). I like the SWAT-T tourniquet in this ResQue 1st Trauma & Auto Emergency First Aid Kit. It is easy to use and is very easy to understand the instructions (It's printed right on the tourniquet itself). The QuikClot bandage is also a "must have" for major trauma incidents. All in all, this is a good buy and is a quality item. Note: If you purchase this kit, be sure to take it with you if you enroll in a First Aid class, and show it to your instructor - he or she will love it too. Please attend a First Aid course of your choice and get certified - It is well worth it, and you will be well trained to serve your family, friends, and the public when necessary.

I ordered two of these kits, one for myself and one for our daughter to carry in her car. I already have a big first aid kit in the toolbox of my truck, I wanted a small package that had "the good stuff" for dealing with trauma. This fits the bill handily. It will easily slip into my briefcase or other carry bag, but contains all the essentials for helping deal with a medical trauma small to medium. As a former photography instructor, I used to tell my students the "best camera" is the one "you have in your hand when you see the picture." I think the same holds true for first-aid kits, the best one is the one you have with you when you need it. The great, comprehensive kit I have in my truck won't do a bit of good if the truck's any significant distance from where first aid is needed, immediately!

Nice little kit. I keep it in a to-go bag that I carry with me and leave in my vehicle while I'm out (very mobile-friendly size kit). I don't anticipate needing to use it, nor do I ever hope I have to, but I'm confident that this kit has the things I need to assist myself or someone else in an emergency trauma situation.

Our Safety & Security Team at church is always on the lookout for tools that help us be better prepared. These ResQue 1st Trauma kits fit the bill, and will be a great addition to our emergency response packs. Like an AED, fire extinguisher, or even an evacuation plan, we hope we never have to use the Trauma kits, but they will be there if needed. We have faith that God will protect us and our church, but we know that He expects us to do our part, too, and prepare.

You need one of these in every vehicle. You never know when and who might need it. Even if you're untrained, with a little research you can use everything in this kit.

Nice little kit to supplement a basic first aid kit. Once of those things where it is nice to have but you hope you never have to use it. Just a quick reminder that the best part of any first aid kit is to get training ot better be able to use it.
