Nice set for a beginner
I purchased this for an eight year-old who is just starting to show an interest in chess.It was well received and is played daily now.

Great 3 in 1 portable game set!
Our daughter knows how to play checkers and just started playing chess. This is a great game set that we can bring with us during our travels. The only negative when using it for travel is that it is NOT magnetic. This is mentioned in the ad, so it was not a surprise, but I thought I should point that out in case you missed that. It is decently made of wood and you can close up all the pieces and latch it shut. It would be nice if it came with some sort of protective cover so that it doesn't get dinged up during travel, and to ensure that it does not inadvertently unlatch and open.

A board game set arrived right on time in perfect condition. All the pieces were received fully as to the product description. For the first chess set I wanted something cheaper where I can get some value. I noticed there were many chess board games for about the same price as when I bought this product which was $19.95. Even better, this set had 3 board games in 1.Three different games are included: chess, checkers, backgammon. If you get bored with one game, you can move onto the next.I think people of any age would enjoy these board games. It’s not too big or bulky, so it’s perfect to store the game in the bag. Overall, very durable. I highly recommend this product!
