Easy to read, especially for friends who cannot read Chinese characters. Good size for those who grew up playing mahjong with their families. The box and trays are flimsy but I am used to filling the trays with the tiles carefully and supporting the box from the bottom since the tiles are heavy. Since we received the set, we have been playing almost every night and teaching our friends how to play. The set comes with a rule book that is hard to understand but I didn’t have to use it.

I was thinking I would just get a cheap mah jong set so I could get started playing with friends. The accessories it comes with are cheap and flimsy. The case in particular feels like it's made out of cardboard and contact paper. That said, the tiles are amazing. They have really good weight to them and look wonderful. What you're getting here is an excellent tile set and that's really what matters. For the price, this is an amazing deal since the compromise is only with the things that don't need to be good. Cheap betting chips are fine if you have good tiles and these tiles exceeded my expectations.

Many have said this but I’ll reiterate the case is a 2 out of 5 stars (cheap and flimsy) and the tiles are 5 out of 5. If anyone finds a good case let me know!

The family enjoys playing majhong but I had trouble with the symbols. Thesecwith the english translation is wonderful. Makes playing more enjoyable for us.
