Great size for a car, really like the adjustable beam
I bought this product so that both my wife and I would have good flashlights to keep in our cars. I am very impressed with the light output of this flashlight. It is extremely bright. I believe the manufacturer's advertised lumen rating. I have several 250 lumen flashlights and a 750 lumen spotlight and this light definitely falls between the two. The best feature, however, is the adjustable spot. It is rather difficult to find a high-lumen flashlight that can be adjusted between a wide area beam or a narrow spotlight beam. That kind of flexibility is just what I wanted for a car flashlight, however. This light adjusts by sliding the end out or back. The tail cap-mounted on/off switch feels a little weird for a flashlight of this size, but that may just be a matter of personal preference. This flashlight isn't really long enough to be used as a nightstick and it is probably too big to mount on a weapon, but it's a great size for a sturdy, bright, hand held flashlight. If you just want a durable, bright flashlight, it's a good deal.

Let there be much light!!!!!
Wow, there is light! A whole lot of light! I could not be any more pleased with Duracell's deal on these lights. Used inside on low, hitting the ceiling, one can read just fine, lights a lot of house in a power outage. Outside is even more amazing, the whole property is well lit with the flood beam and the tight beam, (which is square), it's extremely effective at long distance. It also has the weight to be used as a self defense club. The adjustable beam is a necessary feature for me. I looked at many tactical flashlights and they are all very pricey but these are not only the right price but they feel durable enough for normal use, perhaps not as durable as the $100 lights but you could buy 8 of these and have plenty of back ups in the event of a failure. I'm not one to leave reviews but I was moved to do so with this fabulous product from Duracell.

Duracell Tactical 500 - A Very Powerful Flash Light
I bought this flash light because it was recommended to me by my brother. He used my small flash light but was very frustrated that it wasn't able to give enough light for him to be able to read the box labels on the shelves of my warehouse. So he recommended the Duracell Tactical 500 which he says is extremely bright and will be perfect for my purpose. I bought it and have been using this flash light for about 2 weeks now and I am very happy with its performance. This flash light has 3 modes: bright, very bright and flashing. I use the bright light and it give plenty of light for my needs. The lens is also adjustable to a very narrow beam to a wide beam by adjusting moving the front lens forward and backward. The flash light weighs a little less than a pound with the 3 C batteries. This body of the flash light is made of aluminum and feels solid in your hands. It feels well made. The back end of the flash light has five sides so when you place the flash light down it will not roll off the table. My only issue with this flash light is that its a little on the heavier side for what I do. I carry a clip board with one hand and hold the flash light with the other so when I need to physically move a box around, I have to lay the flash light down or I might drop it. Overall, I would highly recommend this flash light to anyone. This is a great multipurpose flash light.

Very bright, not too heavy or bulky
After much research and not wanting to spend a ton of money on an excellent flashlight, a friend of mine who does search and rescue recommended these to me. We are planning a trip to Costa Rica and will be viewing wildlife after dark, so we needed something with a beam strong enough to illuminate things at a good distance. These flashlights not only cast a long tight beam directly to a spot as far as the top branches of my 100+ year old oak tree, but you can adjust the width of the beam and focus according to your needs. It stays bright unless you click it down to the lower setting. I doubt that we will ever care to own another flashlight so long as these are around and for the price for a two-pack, I couldn't be more pleased. My only concern would be if you had seizures or migraines brought on by bright, flashing lights, these may not be for you since you DO have to click through the "strobe" setting at every use. Great feature but may be annoying or even dangerous for some folks.

Great Light Output but Too Many Flaws in Design
The good thing about L.E.D. flashlights is that they put out a bright light and the batteries last a long time, but the quality of the light isn't as good as incandescent light. L.E.D. lights also have a habit of going bad if dropped or if there are fluctuations in the voltage. The Duracell warranty is for one year and does not cover the L.E.D. or if it is dropped. The things that would prevent me from purchasing these flashlights again is the strobe light, the rear push button and the way it functions and the price is too high for a cheaply made product from China. The light has low, high, strobe and off, and you must click through all of them to get to the one you want. The strobe light is not strong enough to be used for self defense and would not make a good roadside warning light, so it is basically useless. The placement of the button switch on the rear end is the worse thing about this flashlight. In order to change from low to high you have to move the flashlight out of your hand click and then put it back in your palm, and since you have to click through all the functions this becomes annoying in a hurry. I imagine putting the switch on the barrel would have added cost to the production. For those of you who hold your flashlight up high by your shoulder the push button is still awkward because the switch is too far back which forces you to hold it by the rear end. There are better options out there, including flashlights made in the U.S.A. Maglight, Tektite, Fulton, Surefire and Princeton Tec. are a few choices for American made flashlights.
