... a few times with an SMB and it works great. Easy to roll up
I've used this a few times with an SMB and it works great. Easy to roll up, and you can lock it right where you want it! I hang off of it on my safety stops and when coming up from a deep dive.

Didn’t get to use it.
It must have been nice as it walked off before I got to use it. That said, I probably wouldn’t but it again. There are other similar products, besides a stupid fingerspool.

Great reel for lots of uses
I grabbed this on a whim for throwline management when climbing trees as an alternative to just snaking line into a bag. It immediately paid for itself in time saved not dealing with knots and easy of use. Locking clip works well for storage and limiting spoolout when in use. Composite plastic is durable and has handled getting slapped around strapped to my harness for a few weeks when not in use. Finger holes on the reel work well even with gloves on. Line is surprisingly strong and wears well.

Not bad
I got this to replace my standard reel after I had an issue with the string coming off and wrapping around my legs. I have tried it a few times. My biggest issue is it's a little hard to use with 5mm gloves on. I didn't have the same issue when using 2mm gloves. This might be better for warmer waters but I'm still happy with it.

Doesn't lock well
Nice and light for travel but I would have like to see more line come on the reel for deep drifts. I added some and it holds a plenty for recreational depths. I have to dock it because it frequently comes "unlocked" and I have a mess of line around me. It's obnoxious.

100' spool put into the test.
(-) The size of the spool could be narrower, so it would better fit into BCD pocket. There is a lot of an unused space on top of winded 100' line inside.(-) The line is white. It could be yellow or green.(+++) Besides that, it is a great thing. Best compromise between regular spool hassle and big cave style spool. I know that there are also out there small open spools with little foldable hand on a side, but believe me, fingers get tired quickly, and you can still accidentally make a tangling mess. This spool is very easy to use: held by a palm of your hand, has locking tab and line guide, so you are not afraid of losing it. Not planning to use the lanyard. Retractor with quick disconnect is better.4.5 stars

The construction is quite sturdy, it comes with 100ft of bright yellow cord ...
My review is limited to describing my impressions of this reel without the benefit of actually using it under water. It appears to be well made and offering the diver a basic reel for deploying a surface marker. The construction is quite sturdy, it comes with 100ft of bright yellow cord with a bronze double ended clasp and wrist lanyard. There is a locking mechanism on the back of the reel housing that lets you lock the reel in place, a great way for holding you at you decompression stop without yoyoing up and down, and although first appearances would suggest that it's quite flimsy, with careful and positive movements I can't see why you'd have too many problems with this mechanism. But, it is plastic so I'm sure that someone somewhere will have the misfortune of breaking it. I like the way the inner bobbin fits snugly within the main outer body thereby avoiding the frustrating task of having to deal with a whole bunch of line escaping off the reel and forcing you to start rewinding your line while under water or on the dive boat. The bobbin has a protruding winding handle and two finger holes for rotating the spool and winding your line back on. All in all I think that it will give me what I am looking for in a basic reel. Something to hold my line in a well organised and secure manner, and the ability to rewind it on the bobbin in a quick and efficient manner.
