A must read for leaders in organizations with Gen Z team members (employees)
Working in a corporate world that includes five (5) generations, I am often confronted with leaders who wonder why different generations react so differently than they do. It seems that an underlying belief is their way worked for them so why isn’t it working for the other generations!David and Jonah Stillman have done an outstanding job answering that question. This is book is rich with data from the surveys and interviews they conducted when researching Generation Z and offers not only clear illustrations of how this generation (Gen Z) differs from Millennials, Gen X, Baby Boomers, and Traditionalists, but more importantly offers practical suggestions on how to best welcome them into the workplace and manage, lead, and mentor effectively.While focused on the “Z” generation, I found so many helpful tips that leaders can use when working with the other generations. Myths abound associated with the different generations, and "Gen Z @ Work" works to clarify so many of the myths and misunderstandings that can negatively impact how leaders work with team members from various generations.And, I love that this book is written as a partnership between a Gen X and his Gen Z son. What a wonderful idea with such great value! Hearing directly from Jonah and dialogues between father and son helped keep me engaged throughout the book.While David says “If you’re reading this book for parenting advice, I’m not so sure I’m your guy (p. 9), as a consulting and clinical psychologist I would disagree. A great book built around seven actionable "traits"
Gen Z @ Work is an easy-reading and fascinating look at Gen Z, with the interesting twist that it was written by a generational expert and his Gen Z son. Many books of this type (I read a lot of business non-fiction as I run an innovation consulting firm) have long narratives or dense reams of research that leave you without a clear takeaway. The authors have done an artful job of writing a book clearly organized around seven traits of this emerging generation...making it straight forward to consider about how their research would apply to your own business. An interesting extra technique is that they included questions from well known names, from Steve Ballmer to Goldie Hawn and then provide quant or qual answers to their questions.

Great Read! Essential if You Employ Gen Z
Gen Z @ Work is a first! The first book that isn't theory or speculation about Gen Z, but useful facts and strategies instead. Every manager, CEO and HR professional (parents too) should grab this book. It's full of useful ideas for engaging Gen Z in ways that have not been revealed anywhere else. An added bonus? Absolutely charming and eye-opening exchanges between Gen X dad David and Gen Z son Jonah.

This excellent, timely book is a must-read for teachers, professors, parents, employers, and all who work with our newest generation. What an eye-opener! I am a university professor and this book explains a lot about some of the behaviors I have begun to see in my students. Super helpful and well worth the money, this book is the "Bible" of Generation Z. I'm sharing it with my colleagues and friends!

Great insight into Gen Z
I really enjoyed this book. I bought it because of the delta airlines article and reference it all the time at work. As a Gen X parent, I'm really proud of how we raised Gen Z! Loved the father son perspectives.
