This transforming d-pad for the Xbox 360 controller is sure to give your controller a fresh, unique look! Please note that in order to install this piece, you will need to take apart your Xbox 360 controller.p style="color:#FF0000"NOTE: This D-pad will NOT fit older Xbox 360 controller shells. This D-pad will only fit controllers that already have the transforming D-pad (such as the silver, Modern Warfare 3, and Gears of War 3 controllers). If you wish to fit this D-pad on an older controller, you will need to use a cutting tool to make the D-pad hole larger for it to fit!

Great Transforming D-Pad!
Note: The Transforming Directional Pad (D-Pad) is only for new Xbox 360 controllers. If you attempt to intall it in old models, you will have to do more work by cutting some of the edges off to make it fit. Also, I bought this item from GeniusMods.Value:With that said, I purchased this new D-pad because my custom, silver-styled 360 controller's pad broke off. When I received my D-Pad, I also got a Torx T8 screwdriver, which you really need to open the controller. $9.99 for the two is a decent deal for me because I needed both the screwdriver and the D-pad. However, if you wanted only the D-pad, you either should contact the seller or look elsewhere. Because you can get a replacement for less than $10.Accessibility:Installing the D-pad was easy, given you have the T8 screwdriver and some patience. All you have to do is unscrew all of the screws, remove the back shell [carefully], the little motherboard [carefully too], and the broken D-pad itself. Switch them out and put the controller back together. And it's good as new!Overall:If you are in need of a new D-pad and a tool to open your Xbox 360 controller, then this is a great deal for you. I highly recommend it. Also, with my package that GeniusMods sent, I was given instructions, link to a tutorial video, and contract information if I had any troubles with installing the pad. I didn't need to contact them personally, but I appreciated the easy access.Additional info on controllers:I have four Xbox 360 controllers: two old models, two new ones. I replaced one of the new one's D-pad. Since I had another controller that needed it's buttons fixed, I opened it up to see if it was an easy fix. There is a little rubber "buffer" that the plastic buttons hit, that in turn hit a sensor on the little motherboard. The rubber piece for my "A" button had became loose and broken off.I mention this because if you have troubles with your controller, it may not be the buttons or the D-pad but the rubber pieces inside. Just some food for thoughtThank you for reading!

Feels different, but works perfectly!
You can feel the difference between the real one & this one, but I guess that's to be expected from a unofficial Microsoft item. Other than that, it works perfectly!

Transforming D-Pad>>>
I am a big fan of customizing my stuff, and I was glad to find a white transforming D-Pad. This is a great product and works exactly how it should. I will warn potential buyers that if you plan on installing one of these D-Pads, make sure the controller case you are planning on using is fitted for the new D-Pad's. If the controller doesn't have one to begin with, the new D-Pad will not fit through the existing hole. Save yourself some frustration. :)

Works well, sticks a little
The DPad works well enough all the time, but it sticks a little sometimes when you push up. A little annoying, but not too debilitating..
