Richard Scarry's Busy, Busy World

Not sure why this particular book is my favorite of the Richard Scarry books, but it never fails to delight and has been read in my family for 3 generations.

Our modern world is awash with children's books but few are as charming and unique as Richard Scarry's classic "Busy, Busy World". The sheer joy of each little tale, the spunky animal characters and the diverse settings and cultures are a rare treat. In an age when "identity" is paramount but that is often stricken with numbing sameness, it's a pleasant throwback to read through a colourful book celebrating the nations of the earth: France, Germany, China, India and on and on. The short vignettes are loaded with delightful characters and overflowing with clever little details. "Busy, Busy World" is a great way to take your little one on a trip around this lovely, vibrant, exciting world we all call home. Solidly constructed with a glossy hardcover, it'll last long enough to become an heirloom book to pass on to future generations of your own busy, busy family.
