Overall works nicely. However, I CAN NOT identify anything at 50 feet other than it is warmer than what is beside it and what size it is. I can't understand how any of the other reviewers say you can distinuguish between people . . . that's just completely misleading. It's a bit slow, so you have to aim it at something as opposed to swinging it around or looking for moving objects. Remember it only visualizes DIFFERENCE in temperature within the view angle. So, I could see a rock in the yard; but, I never see a rock if the screen was filled with warm objects. Warm things at a long distance are not noticable as they are just a few pixels on the screen. I can see an object leaning against the otherside of a door (as if you are looking through the door) if the otherside of the door is a warm or cooled room . . . but really, I wouldn't know what the object was by looking at the screen. I can see wall studs if one side of the wall is cooler than the other (like a exterior wall but not on interior walls). The SCREEN is VERY BRIGHT; so, yes it does mess up your dark vision and you do stand out like a sore thumb. Anyway, it's pretty neat, I like it. Just get your expectations right.

This must be used to be believed! I am an LEO and was looking for something after an incident in a crawlspace during a search. まだ性能が確かめられる場面に遭遇していません。壁の外にいる人間や動く物に対しての性能はどうなのでしょうか？物の内部の温度を測る事はできそうですが。

Understand this is not photo clear but will suprise you at times. Missing kittens, scanned yard and they showed up running about. We have predators (fox, coyotes, wolf, bear) so this is handy. Interestingly, thermal images are pretty much the same in daylight. Checked hot electronics etc. Nice LED light built in. Can use both light and images. Light has no significant effect on thermal images. Good battery life.If you can read color (weather) radar, you should be able to learn to interpret thermal images. This unit has both monochrome and color choices.
