A must read for kobudo practitioners
At first glance, this book may look very simplistic with only a few of the "techniques" you're expecting, and only 2 Kata. And there is definitely lots in this book for the absolute beginner; you'll get a solid start. At second glance it seems far too complicated, the kata portrayed in picture and diagram form from multiple angles, rather than a simple embusen diagram. And there is a lot buried away in here for the advanced students to interpret.Give it a little time, seriously study it, and the brilliance shines through. There is nothing in here except solid advice, technique, history, and the author's very Okinawan humor and sensibilities. This is a great complimentary book to the author's training videos, or a good book on its own.
