No. I have lined the bottom of the cup with a thin piece of cardboard (like a piece of a cereal box) to reduce noise.

so do you "roll" them inside the cup if you are in a car?

If you want to play in the car, try using a shoe box to roll them in. Use the shoe box lid to set aside the dice from each roll that you are "keeping". You can store the whole game (cup, dice, score pads, and your own pencils) in the shoe box when you are done.
