Everything about the product is great so far. Really easy to use and install (for those having issues with t-slot compatibility...just buy washers).The only issue is that it's not a true racking lock if there are no boards locked down. The mechanism to lock down one of the sides isn’t activated with no boards present. In the scenario, you can simply lift up the cover and unscrew one side off and have the crane portion be stolen. Not a big deal for me but I can’t speak for others who would consider this a major problem. This is still a 5 star product for me because the actual use of the product surpasses anything else I’ve used. The locking issue is a sacrifice I’d easily make given the affordability and quality of the rack.Edit: updated review

Compatible with Billie Bars rack, you can get pads from Vitamin Blue (used 27 inch). Careful getting to tight, may damage board. Nice mechanism, didn’t see any Efoil use before purchasing.

Took a little getting used to, but so much easier than strapping on your surfboard. Just use a crank and your board is secured in minutes.

I typically do not give the best rating unless a product surprises me. That said, this product does what it says, and is uniquely efficient at it with smart and sleek design. And it’s versatility in securing different equipment of various sizes is perfect (kayak, SUP, and short boards are all in-play). And here comes the inevitable ‘but’… The hardware provided does not work with every slotted or t-track crossbar. Specifically, I had to use my own allen bolt and jam nut to fit this on the RhinoRack Heavy Duty bar, which has a wide t-track. The provided hardware does fit my other RhinoRack Vortex bar however. Also, spacing the of the mounts can be challenging for use with short boards unless the distance between the two crossbars is closer together, say 1/2 the length of your short board. Otherwise you might set the rear unit appropriately for the width of board just before the fins, but the forward unit would need to be set for the top, nose end of the board and you can’t set the mounts close enough together. As long as you use a crossbar pad you should be ok.so, yes, it does have some limitations but all-in-all it is a really great product and I definitely recommend it!

Been delaying this purchase for a really long time due to the price. I’ve been using lockable straps, but those were the most secure as overtime they came loose and no longer bit the strap.I regularly carry 2-3 boards and this thing makes it super easy to pull off any board from the rack. Being able to separate the straps and managing the excess with the ratchet system makes things really fast. Also no more worries about your straps not biting down hard enough and slowly backing loose while driving. So far so good with car washing also. Ratchet them flat and your good to go.

I have used this carrier for almost 2 decades and I believe it is the best out there. Easy and sturdy equipment that allows you to quickly secure your prized boards and not worry about the straps loosening up.

Setup on a 2015 Ford Explorer, easy install! I like how simple this is for securing a 10ft. kayak. Make sure you center your credit in the roof rack, the cabling needs to be evened out to not get caught on any corners.

This would have been great but I didn't realize its only compatible with T slot crossbars. Would have been good to know before hand. Ended up returning for Thule because it works with almost any crossbars.
