My kid gets the ownership! A total hit!
Wow, I didn't expect this to be such a hit! I ordered it after seeing it recommended on BabyCenter, in hopes of me actually allowing my 2-year-old and 5-year-old to do stuff in the kitchen. I always have the desire to cook with them, but when it comes down to it, I want to work quickly and efficiently, and our kids are anything but that. HOWEVER, I know I should be patient with them and make it "together time" with my sons. I hoped this book would help me with that, and indeed, it is doing the trick! As soon as we got the book, my 5-year-old meticulously went through every single page, and he has continued to do so almost every day as it sits out in the kitchen. He has spent a lot of time pouring over this book! So far this week we've made the Cookie Monster pancakes, Ernie's jelly omelet, and the Oscar's Dip in the Mud (simple chocolate fondue). It is truly amazing how much the kids love participating when they feel like the book is designed for them and they are a true part of the food creation, not just doing Mommy's dirty work. ("Here son, scrub these potatoes for me!")I highly recommend this recipe book. You might think (as I did) that you don't really need more recipes. These are simple recipes that you might be able to do better on your own, or easily find on the internet. We all know how to make pancakes. BUT, the big difference is that with this book, it's not just Mom looking up some recipe on her phone and telling the kids what to do. Here, the kids get ownership. And that is worth every penny.

4 year olds favorite book
This book is awesome. Bought it for my tiny chef when he was 3 and we have used it at least 100 times since. The recipes are simple, fun, and delicious and I love that there are steps that my child can do....such as cutting soft fruit with a plastic knife! Why didn't I think of that? He has brought it to show n share at school a couple times and loves picking out recipes for us to have at meal times. I have even gifted this book to pretty much everyone I know ith a 3+ year old. There are also stickers in the back...SCORE!

Fun cookbook with lots of recipes
The cookbook has lots of fun recipes and tips for what kids at different age levels can do. My 2 1/2 year old loves flipping through the book and seeing all the sesame street characters. We have yet to make a recipe, but they look tasty. The book has lots of recipes, more so than most other kid friendly cookbooks I considered.

Great family cookbook
I like that this book has made it possible for me to involve my 2 year-old in the kitchen. We've made two recipes from it so far and both have been very good. I've even gotten a few ideas for snacks of my own!The recipes are simple and usually involve ingredients I already have in my pantry. I love that for each recipe there are specific steps that kids can do (these are all identified by a little Elmo figuring next to the number). For the most part, the recipes here are low fat (which is good given our obesity epidemic). However, if you have a skinny kiddo like I do, you can easily make substitutions to boost the calories.

This is such a great cooking book for all who are interested in cooking
This is such a great cooking book for all who are interested in cooking. I got it when my little guy started showing signs of wanting to help out in the kitchen. I thought it would be a great book for him to pick out his own recipes to try out. They are kid friendly recipes as well as easy for them to help out with. The illustrations are great as well. I would highly recommend this cook book to any one with little people in their lives who are interested in helping cook.

Book was in bad shape
Multiple pages were torn - this was for a gift, but I probably can’t give it now.

Perfect for including kids in cooking
We bought this book after checking it out at the library along with several others, including popular competitors and here on Amazon. This book was easily the best. It was made not only help kids want to cook but to participate in the cooking. There were enough ingredients so that our whole preschool had something to put into the recipe, and the food is appealing to them. Every recipe was quite healthy, too. It was fun to use, I'd buy it again as a gift!

For the Great Grand Daughters
Although aimed at small children the recipes are pretty complex and I wonder if my 3 year old daughter knows who Mark Bittman is. But the book fits into my attempt at developing a series of books to give my 3 great grand daughters a good start with the what, where, how and when of cooking. It worked for their mom (she is a great cook) so I hope it works for them.
