Loved it and was effective until it quit working prematurely!
I normally go outside and get eaten alive. We purchase this in March in southeast Indiana. I live in a area that has ponds everywhere and a creek in my back yard. I had already gotten bit in March. We plugged it in and within a few weeks I was no longer getting bitten. It was catching mosquitoes and other pesky flying insects. After 2 months the light quit working. I ordered a replacement and plugged it in and it didn't work either. Not sure what the problem is but we are trying to contact the company and get a replacement. It hasn't been in operating order for about a week and a half now. I sat outside just now and was bitten 4 times on the foot. I was outside for maybe a half hour. Obviously it was working before that. Fingers crossed that we get a replacement and that it lasts alot longer than 2 months! Update on this review! The manufacturer reached our and are sending a new trap.! So happy customer!

Yes! Great product!
My 7 day results from the Dynatrap...... 🦟 It definitely works, see pictures below!! 👏 I would definitely purchase this again!! It attracts all types of insects, you can REALLY see the mosquitos in the last photo 😳 A few tips: 1) Read the instructions! 😂 Seriously. It says, "place product 20 to 30 feet from your outdoor living/sitting area" & It MEANS IT! ElliAna & I, almost got eaten alive while taking these pictures. It definitely attracts the mosquitos.🦟 2) Hang the trap where the cord isn't touching any plants or on the ground, etc. About 3 or 4 days in, I went to check the basket and there were ants running up the cord & covering the trap. I mean, it really wasnt a big deal but they were eating my "proof/results." Plus, who wants pesky ants everywhere, anyway. 🤷♀️ 3) The trap is a little heavy. You will want to hang it on a steady surface or a really good shepherd's hook. It broke the $8 hook that I bought at the Dollar General.... so I would advise against purchasing that particular hook. My particular units model #: DT1775 I purchased mine from Amazon, & recieved it in 2 days but you can also visit the Dynatrap website & find more products. I hope this helps!

Twice Bitten
The trap arrived and was hung in a protected area. It worked for about a month but I believe it tripped the breaker followed by the bulb burning out. When it worked, the trap was full with mainly moths but also a plethora of other insects. We live in a fairly dense mosquito populated area, and even with the town spraying toxic chemicals in our yard and the Dynatrap hanging, we did not see any relief from the pesky buzzers. Once the bulb burned out, we tried to get another one from the DynaTrap company, but they did not have any in stock. Really? You sell a product known to have a bulb burnout problem and you don't stock replacement bulbs?? So, an aftermarket bulb was ordered and after much difficulty in inserting it into the unit, (almost an impossibility), it did fit the socket, looked exactly like the burned out one, but failed to work. So, is the bulb faulty or is the DynaTrap itself a worthless unit? The unit I purchased was supposed to be good for one acre, but we only found it good for a few aches!!

Works good, sucks mosquitos in pronto!
I ordered a DT1775 on 2 May 2017 and it was delivered promptly. It was shipped without any protective box, with a label stuck on the shelf display box. When I plugged it in, it did not work. The bulb had been knocked out of it's socket during shipping. I had ordered a spare bulb, so I tried it and it did not work either. I called the Dynatrap company and they sent a replacement unit, which arrived in about 2 days. Excellent service! The second unit was packaged better for shipping and it worked fine when I plugged it in. We live on a creek and have lots of bugs and skeeters. I hung it under our back yard deck and in the first week it has caught hundreds of little moths and mosquitos in the bottom trap. We have other larger flying critters, but only the little ones pass through the plastic grid over the fan. The big ones can't get in and this is OK. This unit has reduced the mosquito count greatly in just the first week. I am using it without any extra mosquito attractant for a couple of weeks and will then stick a pack of Flowtron MA-1000-6 attractant to the bottom of the unit to compare the mosquito trap rate. This is going to be a good year for lots of mosquitos in our back yard, so this DT1775 is looking good at reducing out skeeter bites.

Worked for 1 month only / UPDATE
Worked great for a month. Caught several months, mosquitoes and biting flies, even a few horse flies. It was hung in a lean-to of a barn. UNFORTUNATELY, It only worked for a month. Then the light went out. Purchased another light bulb, which took 3 weeks to arrive. Of course, by the time the bulb arrived, the warranty was expired and I can no longer return. It is also difficult to remove / replace the bulb. There are 3 small screws that need to be removed within the casing - very little room and I have small hands. ALSO, when the basket is full there should be another means of removing the dead bugs - there are still live bugs in the basket (takes 24 hours for them to starve/die); when twisting the bub basket off it is difficult to hold on to and all the live bugs fly away. Ideally, some hole or something to drop or vacuum bugs out would be better. OR a handle to help hold the large basket while twisting. ////// UPDATE ///// August 2021 //////////// Contacted the company via e-mail. They immediately sent me a call tag and a new unit within 2 weeks - NO charge to me! So far the new unit is working great. It has caught several mosquitoes (& some moths) in the past week. Very happy to have this unit back as the bugs have taken over without it the past month.

Was a beetle magnet until I got the crappy replacement bulb
So far it works great for us! That was about 2 weeks worth of beetles, gnats, etc. We have only had it up for a couple weeks so it’s too soon to tell if it has had an impact on our mosquito population. The gnats swarm this thing like crazy (instead of me) so it’s a winner in my book. Update-4 weeks in and the bulb just went out. So much for 3 months! Of course it happened 2 days after the return window closed. Hopefully, it was a fluke, but I am not super optimistic at this point. I will update if the replacement bulb lasts as long as they say it should. Second update- Replacement bulb is not nearly as bright as original bulb. Only draws about half the insects the first bulb did. It is very disappointing. Had to update my review of the Dynatrap to reflect this since my original bulb only last just under a month. A product is only as good as the consumable parts necessary to keep it functioning.

Customer Service and product AMAZING
I will start by saying the product itself was great, drastic reduction in bugs. Lots of moths were caught, which wasn't my reason for getting it but it worked out just fine. We put it away for the winter and went to pull in out this spring, light turned on but fan wouldn't work. We took it apart because their site says that the motor can get gummed up and will require a cleaning, even after that it wouldn't work. Was worried because I just spent over 180 less than a year ago. Emailed customer service received a response within 1 hour, and had a replacement at my front door two days later!! Just wow!! Never expected that they honor their warranty and they are an amazing company. BUY IT!!

Best so far in mosquitos. No chemicals. Good for Florida!
This upgrade DT1775 model is superior to the DT1770, which I was already impressed with and had running for several years, non-stop. The fan finally quit. I live in buggy Florida and there are few solutions to the pests if you don't have a screened patio. A couple weeks after installing this, the patio has no pesky bugs! I still have to cancel our mosquito spray service to see if this device can do it all, but we've had mosquitos and other biting insects for years even with the service. The 1770 visually collected tons of insects so you knew it was working. This one, however, results in no flying insects being a bother. Over the years we've developed the habit of avoiding the patio. We are trying to break that habit. Look closely at my photos and you will see it captured a mosquito on the first day. The unit is far brighter than the old one, which might be a nuisance. For us, not so much as it is placed on the other side of a low outdoor wall from the patio. I don't like replacing the bulbs but I think that is the best option considering power, life, and other tradeoffs. I bought several bulbs and the upgrade allowed me to keep what I had purchased in advance. The diffuser in the DT1770 had to be replaced once somewhat early in it's life, but I think since then they improved the material. A major advantage (even at that time). This unit seems to be extremely effective, but as I mentioned, I have to dare to terminate the monthly service, which I'm not really up to doing, yet. Also, except for the four and a half foot wall, our unit is only 10 to 30 feet from the patio living space, not as far as the instructions say. I'd say that if space allows, even a skeptic should try it if they can return it in 30 days if not satisfied. Mostly preassembled, just add the bulb, I think. Should be easy to return.

110V only
It only takes 110V power input, and cannot run on 220 V without a power transformer. Should not be offered in the UK and European countries where voltage is 220.

Excelente pero se deben esperar resultados con paciencia.
Funciona perfecto solo hay que dar su tiempo para ver los resultados pero en 20 días ya hay 70% menos mosquitos.
