In the accompanying video, you will see Oreva clock. Even though I hold the phone quite close to the clock face, there is not much sound of its own second-hand. The sound that you do hear is from another clock kept at a distance! I pan the video out and focus it on a smaller table clock, and the difference becomes immediately apparent. The table clock is much louder.Looks: Oreva clock face is large, almost a foot in the diameter. The digits are large too, almost the size of three-quarters of an adult's index finger. This is very important when you wish to strategically place the clock at a place where it is visible from the maximum parts of your house.Sound: It is idiotic to expect anything mechanical to be absolutely silent. People who are not familiar with the friction of the surfaces due to an ignorance of Physics, would be turned down by this watch. However, if you have decent expectation of owning a clock that does not hammer every second into your ear, then this is the watch to go with. It has a faint tak-tak-tak sound, each 'tak' is shorter than a second. And that's the logic of a silent clock. It turns a single loud one-second movement to three smaller and softer-sounding movements. That creates a difference. But do not expect there to be pindrop silence. In fact, I prefer that the clock makes some sound to let me know that it is still functioning.Glow-at-night: When you turn your room lights off, the digts on the clock glow well for around 15 minutes. If there is absolutely no other source of light, then (might I say, like any other glow-at-night product), it loses its glow after 15 minutes. Again, those who think that they are buying a radioactive light source for 1000/- rupees are fools. If there is any light source, like street-lamp outside the window, the digits will continue to glow moderately.All in all, those who expect an atomic clock with Swiss technology for 1000/- rupees, should keep looking for other watches.यह घड़ी हर सेकण्ड पर एक "खट" की ध्वनि नहीं करती। अपितु यह प्रत्येक सेकण्ड पर तीन मद्धम तीव्रता की "खट" की ध्वनियाँ करती है, जो कष्टप्रद नहीं है। इसकी संख्यायें रात्रि के अंधकार में लगभग १५ मिनिट तक स्वयमेव जगमगाती हैं। तत्पश्चात यदि आपके कमरे में अन्य कोई भी मद्धम प्रकाश का स्रोत है, तो उसकी मदद से भी इसकी संख्यायें मद्धम प्रकाशित रहती हैं। घड़ी का आकार और इसकी संख्याओं का आकार भी पर्याप्त रूप से दर्शनीय है।
