LATNEX Spectrum Analyzer RF Explorer with Aluminum Carrying Case - 6G Combo Plus Slim

This instrument is of excellent quality and offers features typically found in far more expensive spectrum analyzers. While the open source software is probably beyond the capacity of most users to modify and reload, the fact that is made public to all is confidence building. I was quite impressed with how users are encouraged to suggest new features and the speed with which some suggestions are implemented and available as updates.All of that being said, support can be an issue. While Amazon vendors may offer some degree of technical support, the actual source of the RF Explorer is Seeed Studios in China. The registration and activation of the Windows based supporting software is complex and confusing, requiring the reception of a different activation code for each computer on which the software is installed. In my case some email issue kept me from receiving emails from the RF Explorer computer system for some two months. Moreover, a support request first requires filing a request for a "ticket" number and one is then sent an "access code" to use when actually requesting the support. More tedious than a two party banking transaction.The greatest negative to this unit is an underhanded "bait and switch" feature of their product literature. Of the many desirable features described as being offered by RF Explorer models, the Windows based supporting software is stated to be free as are future firmware updates. However, no mention is made that three especially desirable features each require a separate license agreement costing nearly 20% of the RF Explorer itself. To take advantage of all of these features, one will pay almost half again the advertised cost of the unit. Whether these features are worth the extra cost is up to the purchaser. However, not knowing of these extra costs until AFTER the purchase is completed is grossly misleading. When I selected one of these features from my RF Explorer menu, I was directed to a web site for a "license" of that particular feature at a cost of $55. Two other features are handled the same way. Unless every menu choice is explored immediately, the user may be unaware of this situation until it is too late to return the device.

This goes beyond inaccurate, it's just wrong. It was 2.2 mHz off at a transmitter tower site I was at with a 50,000 watt radio station on ot. It displays the wrong frequency for every signal it finds. It is a toy at best and is completely unusable.At this price it should be able to accurately display frequencies!Garbage. I'm sending it back.

Funktioniert im unteren Frequenzband. Wurde aber unter anderem angeschafft zur Überwachung von W-Lan Bändern und da versagt er komplett - empfängt irgendwas aber kein vernünftiges Signal, was bei einem Scanner, der bis 6GHz gehen sollte, eigentlich zu erwarten wäre!Die Software funktioniert unter Windows 10 nicht richtig (immer wieder Hänger und Abstürze) - wobei es ja nicht so ist, dass Windows 10 erst seit gestern am Markt ist.Gerät retour.

rispetto al vecchio modello con il sovrapprezzo di circa 30 dollari, si può acquistare online una opzione che abilita il software ad eseguire spazzate fino a 3 GHZ, rendendo la macchinetta molto utile a controllare una vasta porzione di etere, anche se con una risoluzione inferiore ...Per il resto, qualche piccolo miglioramento, ma sempre valida come il modello precedente, specialmente se collegata via USB ad un computer.
