I love crystals. I bought two different ones. I found that they can be a bit messy when they sit to form. I put a hard plastic package from something else and put the cups inside. DIRECTIONS MUST BE FOLLWED TO A T. I thought my water was hot enough when I boiled my water on my hot plate. I discovered I wasted the smaller kit. I then boiled a big pot of water on a regular stove. They were still a bit messy. But they came out beautifully. I gave some of the crystals to family and friends. I will buy another to make more. Best made during warmer temps outside. They must stay at a warmer temps. When purchased for a child or grandchild ADULT SUPERVISION IS A MUST. I originally purchased this for my grandson. I might do it with them in my home. ENJOY WATCHING THEM.

Santa brought this to advanced 6 and 8 year olds. Their father a professor facilitated the experiment with each. The 8 year old was extremely interested the 6 year old was more interested in keeping up with the older. The results take a week as published. Very satisfied with those. The crystals are extremely fragile but impressive. The results are approximately a 2”X2” crystal in a plastic container.

I bought this for my kids for Christmas. We've grown crystals before with success and they loved it so I thought this kit would be neat with the geodes. Long story short the crystals do great but the geodes not so much even though we followed the directions completely. My youngest wanted the glow in dark crystal and it turned out good, glows really well. My oldest did both geodes, waited for 8 days on both (a total of 16 days) and neither set did anything of value; they look horrible and we were both disappointed. Overall it was a fun kit to get but just don't expect much with the geodes.

Comes in an attractive box. But materials inside are not very clearly marked, and the instructions are not as helpful as they could be. We've only tried once but it was a complete dud: looked like something happening at first, and then nothing. Could be we did it wrong: but that might be the fault of the instructions.
