AlphaPooch Purrfect Single Cat Scratch Post, Black Fleece with Natural Sisal Rope

This post should have a heavier base and a slightly longer/higher post. In order to ensure that my adult cat does not tip it over, I have placed two 5 pound weights on either side of the base. At first my cat did not notice it much, until after I rubbed some catnip. She has now become familiar with the post and uses it daily, even without catnip incentives. It would be better if the post was a bit longer/higher, but my cat can still almost make a complete back stretch, with her claws near the top. She usually hugs, rubs, and scratches- around the middle of the post so the height issue is not much of a problem. I am happy, she is happy. :)

This is just what I was looking for. I have a small cat who likes to scratch it. The reason I chose this was to replace her old one that she pretty much destroyed after several years. She likes to lay on part of it and she likes the carpeted bottom. My old one and now I'm sure this new one will keep her from scratching at the side of the sofa on the floor where she likes to be.

It worked for us but after a good workout by our 20 lb cat he destroyed it so I will soon order another one from the same company it did last a good while. I give it a 3 star maybe if you have a smaller house cat it should last much longer.

My cats would not use this but there isn't anything wrong with this product. They prefer to scratch on the ground instead.

I bought it two years ago. my cat still loves it. we put this near the front door. She scratches on it every time she greeting us when we get home.

Perfect item for the price and for our cat. It was much more expensive elsewhere, and it's holding up well after 6 months of use.

My cat didn't use this at all, I think it's too short for them. They like to reach up tall to scratch things

My cats love this scratch post. I just acquired a kitten & he like climbing to the top of the post, as if he is climbing a mountain.
