Dante's Divine Comedy: As Told for Young People

I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to read the story of the Divine Comedy in English. It is written to be easy to read and easy to understand.

After years and many attempts to read and understand this masterpiece...I finally found a book that makes it extremely enjoyable to read. How Dante was able to fashion this work with such insight and feeling is a testament to the glory of man. Will buy more copies for friends.

This book is for adults as well. Not nearly as complicated as the classic books. I read this one first and them went on to read more complex versions. Joseph Tusiani is an awesome writer. January celebrates his 90th birthday. He is still actively writing.

I was thrilled to find this re-telling of The Divine Comedy for young people. I plan to use this book in a junior high reading group that will be travelling to Florence later in the year. It is a quirky book, I found a few typos, but the re-telling of the story is perfect for my purpose. I highly recommend it, particularly for assigned, guided reading where there will be opportunity for clarification of confusing religious concepts.
