Before I Go To Sleep
"Before I Go To Sleep" by S. J. Watson, is an amazing debut novel...a book I could not put down. This thriller, with it's suspense, twists and turns, as it moves towards the finish, is brilliant, and will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page. I recognize that it has got mixed reviews, but for me it was a gripping read. Before I Go to Sleep tells the story of Christine Lucas, who is trying to piece back her life after suffering an accident that has caused her to have amnesia. Chrissy can remember everything that happens to her during the day but as soon as she goes into a deep sleep, her brain erases all her adult memory; resulting in Christine waking up next to a stranger-her husband Ben? She can't retain new memories, so her entire adult life is blank, but her early childhood memories are unaffected. The man she wakes up next to tells her he is her husband, Ben, they have been married for 22 years, they are very happy, and very in love. She wakes thinking she is young, and gets a terrible shock when she looks in the mirror, and sees her wrinkles.Christine receives a phone call from a Dr. Nash, a neuropsychologist, who has been following her case, and thinks he can help her...but she doesn't know him! Dr. Nash gives Christine her journal, where she had recorded her daily activities for the last few weeks...and so the story evolves and she both reads and writes in the journal on a daily basis, in order to stir up some memories. But Ben doesn't know that his wife is seeing Dr. Nash and keeping a journal. So many lies and secrets are soon revealed...Who can she trust? And some memories are better off without! This novel is written in the first POV, and the reader is right with Christine as she discovers the truth. Christine write in her journal trying to piece together, everything she has missed in her life... and she comes to realise that her life is a lot different that she thinks it is. My heart went out to her, having to live this kind of existence!I was very impressed with this well written novel, and can understand why it was made into a movie. This novel will appeal to a wide audience of readers. Don't miss out on this one!

Couldn't put it down!
As the author of the The Whispers of The Sprite (YA Paranormal Romance) (The Whispers Series) I loved Before I go to sleep' Every page turned was a relief! a relief as in the next was as meticulous in painting vivid details of the accounts that unfold with every page bringing you closer to the source and the intentions of the writer. `Before I go to sleep' is a story about a woman in her mid-forties. every waking day is spent recollecting thoughts that never seem to add up to that which are to most in a chronological order to most (start middle and obviously end). Some days the memories coming from her childhood but other days she wakes ups not knowing anything at all only having random flash backs of her past. Christine is asked by Doctor Nash to keep a journal and write down everything that she has done, a day to day account of her lucid memories. She writes of her husband Ben, a doctor that helps her remember also friends from college. The plot thickens as you drown into Christine's daily diary entries where she slowly discovers that her whole life isn't what it seems to be. Every day Christine has to face the challenge of reconstructing her past with present, inquiring about what caused her memory loss. She has to deal with a growing number of daunting questions. Even though she doesn't remember, her diary helps her to undergo like a microscope a small investigation about her real life and her husband who attempts to cover all the unbearable memories from Christine's past.I must admit the novel is a real page turner and not being able to put it down until the last page was relieved of its duty. The author, a qualified doctor who specialized in the analysis and treatment of hearing-impaired children, S J Watson was inspired to write the novel by Henry Gustav Molaison who after surgery was unable to form new memories. My initial reaction that it would be a light read love story, on the contrary! instead it turned out to be an engaging psychological thriller. I was holding my breath almost to the end when Christine found out the truth about herself and people around her. S J Watson gave us a beautifully written piece with exceptional settings and a simple idea which is transformed into a heart hammering thriller.I can highly recommend this book, the plot line is fast but engaging and I can assure you that after finishing this book the story will remain in your memories forever The Whispers of The Sprite (YA Paranormal Romance) (The Whispers Series)

Before I shop I should open my eye
Before I go to sleep ist eher ein nervenaufreibendes Katz und Maus Spiel.
