Brilliant cookbook for the family
Really impressed with this book, you can tell Fearne has put a lot of thought and hours into this. I like the introductions to each chapter and recipes and even including brief nutritional information. As a vegan myself I can see why some vegans won't agree with this book because Fearne isn't a fully fledged vegan but I personally don't think that's the right attitude to have. I think non vegans will be more attracted to this book because of that, so surely a win win if people cut down or even cut out animal products because of this cookbook? Back to the recipes, they are very appeasing and refreshing. As someone with a vast array of vegan cookbooks this is one where I actually can see myself trying almost all of them. And there's so many with easy to get inexpensive ingredients. Most long cookbooks drag out a meal into four pages so you actually have less recipes but not Fearnes. There's so many it's brilliant. And the desserts are all refined sugar free! Overall this cookbook is perfect for all.

Perfect for those wanting to try the vegan lifestyle or just eat more healthily
I was curious about the vegan lifestyle, especially from a cooking perspective. Yes, it seems better for your health. Yes, it looks very hard to implement... who would not miss the cheese and egg based pastries?! And yes, it looks like vegan recipes are all using weird ingredients that only the adepts of this lifestyle use, which is honestly quite disincentivizing for us non vegan people.During Veganuary I tried Deliciously Ella recipes. Interesting and diverse, although I would qualify them of vegan “expert level” as they are far from my non vegan recipes I have enjoyed all my life...I gave up after two weeks. Then I tried this book. It is full of easy to make, delicious looking recipes and is fully illustrated which is always a bonus (who wants to try out recipes without a photo?!). I also really like how Fearne mentions she is not fully vegan and enjoys dairy or egg meals once in a while: that sounds more like me! I ended up making half the recipes in the book, which all contain easy to find ingredients and ustensiles, and I had no dairy cravings for an entire month, since i bought it! Definitely recommend if you want to start or trial vegan cooking.

Good but not overly exciting
Upon receipt, there was nothing that was particularly exciting in this book - I find a lot of recent vegan books have serious repetition with many recipes being very similar to most that’s already out there (do we really need another lentil bolognese or another bean stew recipe?). However credit to Fearne for the obvious effort that has gone into this book. There isn’t anything significantly new here, but the couple of recipes I have tried have been okay. The information at the start and the end about vegan eating and a breakdown of various types of vegan food is quite helpful, but again just another translation of what is already readily available out there.

Beautiful recipes enjoyed by the entire family
I borrowed Happy Vegan from the library last week and it has made my journey into the world of non-meat and dairy such a fabulous experience. I’ve tried several of the recipes and they have all been so tasty yet easy to follow - the pasta lentil bolognaise has been a hit with my entire family (even my kids - two of the most savage food critics you’ll ever meet - fully approved).Thank you Fearne for producing such a beautiful yet informative book. I have now purchased my own copy and it is already getting gloriously food splattered and dog eared (in my view a sign of a well loved recipe book!).

Nice yummy food and inspiring
Good variety of recipes, the no bake cookies are delicious! All the ingredients seem pretty easy to find in most shops and not too exotic (although I have to go to a health food shop for spelt flour and miso paste) There’s a bit too much garlic in some of them so I dial that back for personal taste. Im not a great cook but tried a few things but found the second time I cook them it comes out better so practice makes perfect!
