The MRCGP Clinical Skills Assessment (CSA) Workbook

Far and away the best CSA book I used.
I used several different books for my CSA revision. This was by far and away the most useful one. It has good case histories and a nice summary of information after every case. I'd say you could probably get away with just using this book and the Internet and do fine in the exam, that is how good I think it is.

This is the Book for CSA
Wasted my money on a few other books, found out about this book 4-5 days before my CSA. Borrowed it from my friends for the exam and trust me ' this is the book'.Very upto date, does not give you bull... 'please check the following website' just gives you the detailed information in the book.I bought the book 'after' passing my CSA because I knew it is going to be a good reference book.A must buy for all GPSTs

Great cases but clinical management guidelines are often out of date.
Very good, complex cases which are great for role play practice and discussion. However this book contains major errors in the clinical management section for each case. The guidelines quoted are frequently out of date, for example the book recommends aspirin for AF thromboprophylaxis despite guidelines being updated in 2014. Not really good enough with such glaring errors.

Excellent
I have bought a lot of books in preparation for the csa, this is far and away the best. The information for the actors is very full, you could live a week in the life of based on the actors information. However it's the management summaries that make this book stand out. They ate comprehensive and referenced to guidelines. I'll be passing on the rest of my csa books but this is one I'll keep hold of!

A lot of thought has gone into the cases and gives the patient roleplayer enough information to portray an accurate picture. actually has information under ICE so when you ask about Ideas, Concerns and Expectations you actuatlly get something standardised.Mini tutorials are good to brush up on knowledge after identifying needs during a scenario. Recommended--- Better than a number of books currently on the market especially that yellow one.
