Superman Action Comics Vol. 1 & 2: Deluxe Edition

This is really solid superman story. It's a return to form for superman after the new 52. Being action comics it's mostly action but it works because superman feels and acts like superman. His reaction with his family is great and is a great addition to the superman mythos. The build quality of the book is excellent, it lays flat and splash pages look great. Also it includes justice League (2011) #52 as a sort of prologue similar to how other rebirth titles had a 1 shot for set up. Overall a great book and a good introduction to the character

I found this collection to be well written and the art was great but the storyline (for me) was just "ok". In fact I still haven't finished reading it after starting months ago, because I wasn't exactly riveted to it. Perhaps it is the confusion (on my part) with regard to how this (yet another) new start connects to the "New 52" through the "Convergence" crossover. I won't spoil it for you here but there have been multiple versions of Superman and his supporting cast since 2011 and this latest one is fine, but as a casual reader, I don't feel like there was enough of an explanation as to what is going on. Maybe a one page preface explaining how we got here from the post crisis, through Flashpoint, the New 52 to Convergence and ultimately Rebirth. That being said, at face value, the book is entertaining.

Nice sequel to superman storyline of new 52 ...liked the Lex Luthor and new Clark Kent as well as very own Superman and Lois Lane return with Darkseid.. wonder woman as well as Superman's son were nice...nice story and artwork...Thanks DC..Thanks Amazon

Love Jurgens take Superman. This is my second favorite Rebirth series. As for the physical book itself, looks great. I really dig DC's Deluxe editions.
