If I could choose one book to help my sense of humor survive the zombie apocalypse it's this. Dean explains the mechanics of how your brain gets jokes and how to use those mechanics to find what's gettable in the world and how to report it. Someone's gonna have to give us some comedy perspective after the hordes consume civilization. Might as well be you.

I have only Been doin comedy 8months but u would never know it... I have 2 Comedy Rooms, I host shows ,Comedy Competitions, gonna be on a Tour starting May 17th..

I'm very satisfied with my order but the shipping was a little slow.

The joke structure and "joke prosecutor" were a bit complex with several steps, but I got what I wanted. Never really understood how to write great setups and punchlines. The "joke map" teaches how to write setups that misdirect and the "joke mine" teaches how to write punchlines that surprise. I finally got it. Good stuff.

I read other books on joke writing, but this is the only one that’s helped me properly understand how to write jokes that people laughed at. Greg Dean breaks everything down logically, and the exercises get you to practice until it sticks.

Unfortunately I mistakenly purchased this thinking it was Greg Dean's Step by Step to Stand-Up Comedy book. This book is pretty basic and has approx. 5 one liners in it including - My wife ran away with my best friend (you will read the punchline to this many times in the book). There is a lot of white space to this book. If his other exercise books are similar honestly think Greg could have published all 5 exercise books in the one book. Another annoying thing is often you are told to go from the page you are reading (page 20) to page 29, 30 & 31 and then go back to page 20. This happens more than once. Honestly think the true value of this book is $1.99 or less.
