Modern Sugar Flowers

This book is not just for beginners. As the author explains herself she had been using pulled flowers for years and then stumbled across other ways of adding different elements to her flower making. This is exactly how I felt reading her book. Although family and friends are in awe of the delicate flowers I adorn their cakes with I was not enjoying the making process as much as I used too. Then I came across this and it has changed the way I think about shape, colour and types of flower to include in my gum paste sprays. The step by step instructions are useful for beginner to advanced and I am working my way through page by page , in the hope of making flowers as pretty and realistic as the ones pictured - and there are a lot of pictures - an added bonus for me because I have been making roses for years so looking at the beautifully photographed variations of roses, rather than the written instruction, gave me just the right amount of information to improve my techniques. I love this book.

This book is a treasure ! i absolutely love it, details and photographs on each step are provided, i have discovered new techniques to perfect my flowers, very helpful :)

This is a lovely book for simple flowers to decorate cakes. Beautifully photographed it is a great book for beginners.The flowers however are not botanically correct so if your aim is serious competition work it's probably not for you.This was a great price and fantastic for bakers wanting pretty and easy flowers for their cakes. Well worth the money

Love every aspects of this book. It has all the highly detailed contemporary sugar craft flower crafts that are easy to follow. I am especially glad it includes how you can make your own sugar flower paste. Cannot wait to get my hands on volume 2 which I know will equally not disappoint. Has been some 16 years since I last made sugar flowers and this was an excellent book to refresh and remind me what an enjoyable craft this is. Excellent, easy to follow picture tutorials and explanations. Good for the intermediate and professional crafter.
